Extra Curricular Information

Frat, and thats about it.
numbers fudged (who doesn't), but all in all, i'm a pretty weak candidate

Additional info & updates

Seriously, 20 schools.
Are all complete as of 11/15
3 years WE, nothing spectacular

Scholarship(s) are per year

12/1 - GT Letter received 12/1, dated 11/20. ACCEPTED!
- around 3 weeks after submission, only 2 weeks after completion! Very fast turnaround. Expected a "Your file is complete" letter. Couldn't believe that this was really an acceptance??

12/12 - Email from Wash U saying "you should have received our official mail". No such mail yet. But acceptance is still goooooood

12/15 - visit to LSD confirms that Penn and Cornell have begun calling/mailing. Baby, don't draw this out for me...

12/23 - Cornell went to Decision. ain't many 3.3 indexes gettin in.

12/31 - BC rejection (not even defer!) and Fordham deferment letters at home. what a way to end the year.

01/03 - Mother sends me a scan of Cornell e-mail. Defer. Better than a reject, but this still hurts.

01/04 - W&L Acceptance! Probably my favorite school of the bunch, though unlikely I will attend. I shall wait scholarship information.

01/11 - Dean Z found "many admirable things" about my application, but decided that I was definitely second choice material. =/. Cardozo in, what a careless acceptance e-mail. I have decided that they are definitely second choice material.

01/12 - Read the e-mail attachment. Dean's Merit Scholarship? Will have to rethink that "definitely second choice" business.

01/18 - The mail took forever to get here, but rejected from Penn. I was praying for a deferral. It hurts... =(

01/19 - Acceptance e-mail from George Washington Univ. Not enough to brighten my mood.

01/23 - Wash U Scholarship offer. Adds fire to the flame of dilemma. Do I really want biglaw? I think i could live out the rest of my days watching Cards with my kids.

02/01 - Got back from a trip. In the inbox are: WL @ UCLA, hold @ NW, hold @ Illinois, $15,000 from W&L. I love my subpar splitter numbers.

02/02 - Chicago rejection. Very much expected, nonetheless a major sigh.

02/03 - Michigan status check goes to 'DECISION'

02/04 - Accepted to Michigan. This is absolutely bonkers.

02/05 - Parents on a little trip until 02/18. Meaning no new news, unless schools send me e-mail. Meaning no way to get my hands on that Michigan package. This is NUTS. I should have had the mail sent to my address.

02/08 - I'm still in disbelief.

02/20 - Harvard rejection. Hurts a lot less than Penn.

02/22 - Duke waitlist by e-mail. Pleasant surprise--I heard they like GPAs. Rejection from Columbia and NYU. No surprises

03/03 - Come the heck on UVA.

03/14 - Decision from Illinois = Waitlist. Hm. Wrote my first withdrawal letter.

03/22 - WL from Vandy. Withdrawn. Will also WD from UCLA

03/28 - UVA goes to decision. Means a waitlist, I suppose. Sigh. I guess it's settled then.

04/04 - First phone call home in a week tells me that basically every school I'm waiting at has WL'ed me.
But where is USC?

04/15 - Deposit sent to Michigan, and withdrawn from basically all the schools that have officially waitlisted me. Still waiting on USC and Cornell though. WTF

I really don't get it. I thought I would at least get a waitlist because I had gone to college there. Congrats on Georgetown BTW.

LSAT > GPA

This year, it seems like Cornell cares a lot more about LSAT, so I'd say if anything you're in a better position this year than in previous years.

Michigan v Cornell
Monday, June 25 2007 at 08:00 PM

I'm undecided between Michigan and Cornell at this point; all other schools are "goners" barring some awesome financial aid offer. I plan on deciding between Michigan and Cornell by visiting both campuses for the admitted students days and base my decision on atmosphere of the school and city. They both seem like nearly equally prestigious schools.

Are you going to the Michigan weekend on march 13th?

Why fudge?
Thursday, June 14 2007 at 08:00 PM

Just curious... Why do people on LSN want to fudge their numbers? Don't see how posting your real numbers can affect your acceptance... Thx.
