Make sure to pay attention on Mercer's status checker to the "Mailings" part of the page; my status still said "complete--ready for review," but I noticed that under Mailings it said "Decision Letter Mailed," which made me very excited! Good luck!

I wonder what is going on with GSU. My status checker has said In Rewiew by Committee for a while now.

yeah I did. I also got the follow-up email from the Dean of Admissions stating the IP e-mail was just for information and did not constitutea decision. He must have received a load of enquiries after the e-mail was sent out. They are driving me crazy!

I didn't even know Samford had a status checker! (if I had known, I'm sure I would have checked it 38489234 times a day lol). Congrats on Mercer! I hope I hear back from them soon. What's your top choice?

Yeah, it was a bummer. Hopefully LSU works out. I've got friends that went to Mercer but they are saddled w/ $100K+ debt, not worth it imo. Good luck :)

I enjoyed Mercer's Preview Day, and it was not as large as some I've attended. (USC was so large you didn't even get a tour, they gave you a map and you could walk around on your own). My two issues with Mercer are the expense and the fact that it was a mile from the main campus. I love Birmingham and spend a lot of time there, even before applying to Samford. I am hoping that the other decisions come in soon so I know where I'm going, especially since our house went under contract last week (we live in the Upstate area). I've been Pending according to the Bama status checker since 1-28. My numbers are low, but would like to go in through the summer program.

Well I am "under review by committee" on the status checker, that happened last week I think. I have no idea what to expect but I am really hoping to get in. I also haven't heard from Samford which concerns me. I hate the waiting!

Yeah..it really sucks because I am in Midtown Atlanta. I am still waiting on a miracle from Emory, though! If not, it looks like Mercer for me, which I will be happy with. I know several biglaw Attorneys that went to Mercer, not to mention several judges. It is a respected school in GA. Good luck!

How long have you been pending at UA? I've been pending there since 1/28. Hoping that they have some decisions coming out this week, since Spring Break is next week.

Oh no kidding!!! I check mybama every day, and still "pending." It is so frustrating!!! I really don't know what my top choice is at this point, although I think if I get into UA that is probably where I will end up going. What about you?

Looks like our choices are narrowing down identical - Samford, UA and USC. Here's hoping for good news SOON!

Well, I received bad news from state. Really disappointed for sure but at least I have a choice between Samford and Mercer. Since you live in Birmingham and are familiar with Samford, do you have any advice for me? I am visiting at the end of the month but am trying to consider both schools before then. I am interested in how Samford places in Georgia (a question I will obviously ask at the open house as well). Any info and tips would be appreciated! Thanks!

I am planning to visit Samford's open house next Friday. I'll have to make a decision that weekend though since seat deposits are April 1st. I am already leaning towards Mercer considering it's reputation in most of Georgia (excluding Atlanta). We'll see how open house goes!

I visited Samford again yesterday, sat in on a Civil Procedure class and spent time with a 1L. It was a great experience. I also put down my seat deposit, so barring any earth-shattering news from Bama, looks like I'll be at Samford in the fall and I know I'll be happy there.

So I went to the open house last week and LOVED Samford! The campus is beautiful and Birmingham seems amazing. I am really looking forward to it. Got any advice on housing? Thanks for your help!

I agree completely about USC. Were you able to attend their open house in Jan? It didn't leave me w/ warm fuzzies and the lack of decisions only adds to that. As far as the UM waitlist, I don't know if it is enough to lure me away from Samford or Bama. Coming back to Bham next weekend to continue looking at housing options. Hoping Cumberland schedules an Admitted Students Day so we all can meet before orientation starts.

Sorry about UA. I expect I'll get my letter today or tomorrow. Did your status ever change from Pending? Here's to Cumberland!
