My advice to any future "splitters" who stumble upon this page is to apply EVERYWHERE because you really cannot predict what will happen. Also, be prepared to wait as schools seem to pick students off their wait lists to fill specific needs: URMs, high LSATs, etc.

7/15 - GW it is...I love the school too much to move to Minnesota

7/10 - REALLY struggling with my decision as to where to go...I would say I am leaning towards GW but man is it expensive plus I would be leaving a scholarship, a nice city, and an apartment in Minneapolis!

7/5 - Got in to my dream school GW...it is killing me that I won't be able to go because of the cost

6/23 - Good bye DC hello Minnesota!!!!!!

4/22 - Was definitely set for WCL and waiting on the GW WL but I got an email today from Chicago-kent increasing my scholarship from $10,000/yr to $20,000/yr $10,000 1st yr grant...more decisions

3/22- Add Emory to my waitlist list...I'm starting to think that the school I put my deposit down for will not be the school I end up attending

3/16 - 2 more waitlists...W&M was expected (though I was more expecting to be rejected), Syracuse was NOT expected and continues my love/hate relationship with that school...I am really pulling to get off the waitlist at either: GW, W&L, CU, or W&M, I guess I have a lot of chances??

2/19 - see below comment about waitlist :( ughhhh - still on the W&L waitlist so atleast I made the cut?

1/25 - soooooooo many freaking waitlists...this is annoying

1/24 - add UMN to my growing lists of waitlists...

1/22 - IN at st johns today with a $35k/yr scholarship...ughh this is tough because as of today I thought I was going to American but that is a lot of money to consider

1/18 - waitlisted at Temple, probably withdrawing immediately

1/17 - after being held, I am in at Chicago-Kent via email

1/16 - zzzzz...

1/7 - IN at Seton Hall via status checker

12/28 - WL at GW...I am actually happy because this is a big reach for me so I plan on doing everything I can to get in...wish me luck!

12/27 - WL at IUB (I will probably stay on this but i dunno...no real interest in living in Indiana)

12/24 - got my scholarship from Hofstra (not bad but probably not enough to make me choose it over American)...Happy Holidays LSNers!

12/21 - its been nothing but crickets lately...i would really like to hear from some schools soon so I can begin the long process of choosing between them...i could really see myself attending any of these schools so i know i will have a tough choice!

12/17 - rejected at Illinois :(

12/14 - in at Buffalo (mail), Hofstra (status checker)...applied to Wake because all of this snow is making me think a southern school might be nice

12/10 - rejected at Georgetown (not surprising at all)...IN at American!! very excited about this...deferred at Chicago-Kent, I am not sure how to take this but I think I am just going to move on from it

12/9 - rejected at Fordham today :( its not surprising tho

12/8 - final in 2.5 hours and that is about the amount of sleep I have gotten over the past two days...In Review at Buffalo

12/7 - ugh its 5am and I needed a break from my studying/typing so I decided to complain on lsn! Atleast these two term papers are keeping my attention somewhat off of my applications...Also, I sent out my LOCI to W&L today

12/4 - again its 2am but this time im applying to more schools?!? i think i may be losing my mind or something...also I wrote my LOCI for W&L

12/3 - its 2am and I am writing one of my term papers, atleast i got my acceptance to DePaul via status checker...feels soooooooo good to get in to a school so early!!

12/2 - decision rendered at DePaul...waitlisted at W&L, sucks to not get right in but my low GPA definitely hurt me here

11/25 - happy thanksgiving everyone out there on the lsn world, still waiting to hear from schools but my guess is all will be quiet until next week...

11/23 - in review at a bunch of schools...so nervous! i really think that getting in to one school soon will help calm my nerves

11/21 - a bunch of my applications are complete yet some have not even acknowledged that they were received?!? I am not sure how long this stuff usually takes but it is starting to bug me a bit...hopefully those schools get my applications soon and that I start getting some decisions in a few weeks!

11/15 - a lot of my applications are being received/completed and the decisions should be coming in the next few weeks...this waiting is difficult!
I probably will not be applying to all of these schools...I am using this site as a well to help keep track of the cycle

Cardozo is in a gorgeous area of NYC. The law school is one building (9 or 11 stories). I was incredibly impressing with the library (but it is closed saturdays).

It is fairly religious. The building is kosher. There are mezzuzahs on every door.

Yeah I know it's a lot, but I figured I might as well since most all of them will be free for me (minus the $12 report fee). I'm also doing it because I am such a splitter, so I'm not too sure how it will all turn out. How are you feeling about your chances?

The school was just awesome. It was one of the first I visited. The school is in one building (4-5 floors). I loved it mostly because of the prestige of the health law program.

Yes... I do feel much better about things. It is pretty amazing. The waiting is pretty tough for me...I am quickly realizing how much of a control freak I am.... opps. But I still foresee some late night applying.... I am glad to see that I am not the only one who does that to try to deal with the stress. hehe. :)

Yeah, don't feel bad... I submitted apps to Maryland and W&L in the middle of the night. I have also filled out Ohio and Iowa several times.... I have really lost it. But we wil be fine...... right? :) One day at a time right? But looks like we have several schools in common... maybe we will end up at the same school stressing about school together. lol.

Yeah I have some family in the area so I think they will end up driving me around :). I also didnt realize there was a why american essay... but after I go look at the school I will write the best essay I can ... I also put that I would be willing to do part time to get off the waitlist even though I applied full time ... so maybe that will help me out... who knows.

  • Monday, February 21 2011 at 01:33 PM

That definitely helps. I am really disappointed that you got waitlisted at indiana bloomington with your higher lsat. Looking at the graphs, it seems like no matter what the gpa, anyone with a 166 or above is getting acceptances and massive scholarships. That is where i want to go but looking at this year's cycle, i am thinking i might be a waitlist too.

I would give you my gw acceptance if i could (yes I got accepted there and didnt list it to avoid getting shit from fellow lsn users)... My top choices are w&l and wake forest. I fell in love with both of them the other week when i went to visit/interview. I dont think gw is the school for me.

  • Sunday, February 27 2011 at 06:49 PM

haha I will! Well I am kind of a small town girl so i really liked that aspect of it.... It would be a different kind of law school expereince. it also did kind of feel like a young persons school... they have some intramural sports with drinking on fridays... and most of the students seemed young... which I liked. the honor system is great... you can even write an i owe you for food and pay later. everyone having there own carrel seems like a good thing on paper (and it is to an extent) but they are all jammed together so i am not sure if i would ever really be able to study there. But, like I said, it is my first choice and would definatley go if accepted. It just seemed to fit me and my personally really well. I also love that every year of law school has its own purpose.... the 3rd year experience seems like a great idea.

Not sure about ST Johns, but its pretty close to me so I may visit. But Im definitely going to the AU day on April 1st. I visited back in February, but Id like to see what the ASD is like too. AU is pretty high on my list, but its so big Im a little uneasy about the potential lack of face-time and personal touch with professors.

That's a really nice offer you got from Kent. If I were you, I'd take that over American. They are pretty much peer schools despite American being ranked higher. Also, American at sticker is hard to justify in my mind.

- milan

I put down deposits at Utah and Maine... althouh I am going to withdraw from Maine soon. I did respond to the w&l email.... it seemed like a somewhat hopeful email.... but it is so hard to tell how many people are a. actively on the waitlist, and b. how many of those people would really go if accepted.... so i am just trying to hang in there... but not get my hopes up... Also - I think American is the right call...

yeah, that must be hard!! :(. But Minnesota seems like a really great place! I have a feeling you will really like it!! How long do you have to let GW know? Do you think if you let them know your situation they would be willing to give you some money? GW/DC is an awesome place but I think you can get a similar education at Minn.

  • Tuesday, July 05 2011 at 06:14 PM

hmmm. yeah. No, I do think I would like Utah... it is just so far away from where I think I want to end up. On the other hand I do have friends in Utah, have spent a fair amount of time in utah, and can see myself there.... so I am not sure if I am just being picky or worrying too much... meh. I wish w&l would just tell me I have no shot so I could mentally move on.... its like one of those bad open relationships where the girl just hung up and cannot let it go even though the guy is being a total dick.... and I am that lame girl holding on.... lol :)

I have been following your cycle because our numbers are so similar, as well as our preference in schools. Congrats on GW!!! I hope you enjoy it DC!!! I think Minnesota is my number 1 right now but it would be hard to pass up GW
