Additional info & updates

I've decided to take a chance and go to Gonzaga...it's just too much money to go St. Louis w/o a scholarship, and St. Louis could be tier 3 by next year if it keeps it up.

I don't know about this whole applying to law school thing, its all just too nerve racking.

Finally got my first app. sent off to Michigan State. I decided to go ahead and send this one because it's not too high on the list of where I want to attend. Hesitant to submit other applications because I want to get my personal statement looked over one more time.

Anyone think 2.5 pages is too long for a personal statement?

Plan on applying to plenty of schools as my numbers aren't the most flattering. Hopefully somebody will let me in anyways though.
LOR's should help my cause... One from Lt. Gov. that I've known for a while and worked for. One from a Prof. who I have gotten to know through several classes who recieved his Ph.D in philosophy from Harvard. One more from my biology advisor/prof. just for good measure.

Good luck to all!
Any comments on schools or such are welcome

10-08-2007:
Just sent off two more applications, one to St. Mary's and one to Gonzaga. Still waiting for two of my LOR's to show up at LSAC. Then I'll start applying to some of the tougher schools to get in at.
I am hoping these 3 can be my safety schools, but who knows, what with my horrible LSAT. I hate the LSAT. I don't know how you can only be scoring in the 162-169 range for who knows how many practice tests, and then do so bad on the real thing... oh well.

How long does it take to hear from schools about your applications, not a decision, just hear about anything, after you turn in your application?

10-18/10-19

Just got off a few more applications, decided to just go ahead and use the personal statement I have.
Got a letter from St. Mary's, nothing too exciting, just letting me know they are looking forward to completing my application.

I'm done sending in applications, sent in my last one to St. Louis today, don't feel like filling anymore out. I'd say 9 is enough. Now it's time to cross my fingers.

Letter from St. Mary's offering $3k a year scholarship. Though I was hoping I would hear something from St. Louis or Denver, I guess it's always nice to get money!

Also applied to University of Dayton...why not, they gave me a fee waiver.

Was your acceptance the summer program? Part time?

It's expensive, but if you're looking at working in STL, it's the school of choice. Good luck!

I wish you luck on admissions at MSU & IUI, I am pending at both myself. SLU said yes but on summer program conditional. (consequence of my low LSAT and high master's GPA, sheer luck!) best of luck and hope you get into them, which are you leaning towards so far? gonzaga or dayton i presume?

I know it gets really cold in Spokane during the winter. A lot of snow and a slow pace, small city vibe. It's not for me, but the school is spoken highly of by people who live in Washington state. I would recommend visiting Spokane to see if you would like it there.

What have you heard negatively about Gonzaga?

i may be joining you at GU if i don't get accepted anywhere else...i went to Gonzaga for undergrad too so if you have any questions about spokane, fire away. p.s. don't believe too much of the crap you have heard about GU...it's a great school with a great reputation locally. there's a lot of bickering online that is inaccurate.

I'll be going to Gonzaga in the fall as well. Took a visit out there and liked what I saw. From what I gathered, the reputation of Gonzaga in the Northwest is pretty top notch.
