I like the first line of your additional info, haha. I feel the same way about IU-Indy.
Like jshap I'm curious about how you are getting a decision...they told me the same thing about the committee not meeting till thanksgiving. Thanks. MP P.S. I hope it's something good, if it really does come!
Hm...interesting. I'll be watching my mailbox.
wow dude we have pretty much the same gpa/lsat and i'm applying to marquette and baylor, and miami. also ut. im hoping i get into ut. hopefully we both get into the schools we want.
Looks like we got the same stats so good luck.
Looks like we got the same stats so good luck.
I'm applying for Spring 08 and I'd like to think we have a decent shot, I mean, someone has to get in.
Any idea when gonzaga will start processing our files?
We're the only two on here deferred at Miami. Some peole with barely better numbers are in...I don't understand what the point of checking the EA box was if they aren't really going to give an answer until after December. Makes me angry that I spent money on their application, because they basically falsified their claim to let you know by Dec. Good luck with the rest.
Interesting about most of the deferrals getting in...I'll have to take a look at the past couple cycles...mabye it will make me feel better. Ha. Well, hopefully we'll have some good news soon. Keeping my fingers crossed!
Congrats on FCLS, it's nice to get the first one out of the way. You now know you can go to law school. I'll continue our waiting.
Good luck this cycle - we have some similar schools - don't be discouraged about Miami - I'm sure you get in later!!!
Have you heard anymore from MSU...they told me decision would be a couple of weeks after going complete?
I'm not sure about MSU. I'm from the midwest originally, but I don't know how I feel about a rustbucket city like Lansing. Without sounding totally irrational, I want to go somewhere with a real campus, which makes me a bit uncomfortable about South Texas and John Marshall. I think I'd be unlikely to go there. I really love Washburn U. My wife went to Baylor, it's a great place, if you can handle conservative, mid-size Texas. I would love Marquette, since I want to go JAG, and there is no bar exam to deal with from Wisconsin. Who knows, with my grades, I will be happy to get a Tier 3 and prove myself.
Thanks - I wish you luck. I was confused by the deferral - I have some suspicions about what happened, but I am just going to enjoy the next couple of months and not worry about it too much. Hopefully we'll hear soon. Wish you luck!
I tell you something weird. Baylor's status checker said I went to a decision last week, I checked it today and it said no decision had been made.
I think I kind of "miscalculated" when I "tailored" my application to Miami - my application is very "I want to go to law school to be a scholar, to teach, to be an intellectual, etc." and Miami seems to be more practice-oriented. I also think my numbers are kind of crazy. My freshman year I had a pretty bad year, and then my sophomore and junior year I basically had to bring my GPA back up from a 3.0 (which was a pain, let me tell you). I think most schools would give me some credit - but it also makes me look somewhat flakey/inconsistent. I don't know - we'll see. I could also be dead wrong, and they could just think my LSAT score is low - I guess time will tell.
Are numbers are very similar. I hope you do well everywhere!
I see you got deferred at Miami, what do you think your chances are??
Miami is really tempting. I was thinking of applying, but never got around to it. FC accepted me with money, but I have no intention of going there. I hope to hear from IU-Indy within the next month. THey are my #1 choice.
I have now officially joined the "on hold" at Miami list too. Do you think maybe they are just accepting people with really high numbers and waiting to see how many withdraw before they accept other people who don't have 165 LSATs?

Ya know, they told me the same thing...i'm sure you're going to be fine. The waiting game sucks though...hang in there and good luck!
I got the on hold from Marquette today too, shaft. At least its not a rejection. Good luck man.
I dont really have a read on what to expect. I guess it depends on what they see in other apps in the mean time.
I feel you on Marquette, but I'd actually give up both nuts. Children be damned.
I saw in another post that you got the same Baylor email that I did a couple days ago. I thought it was somewhat strange that they would send that to me only for the fall quarter (since I have applied to all 3 quarters). I don't think I've got much of a shot there for the fall though. Good luck at Miami and Marquette. I'm sort of confused as to why Miami hasn't gotten back to me at all. Apparently I haven't even gone to committee yet (along with a couple others with similar numbers), so who knows what is going on.
Hey, as of today I've joined the club of deferred Miami applicants. We've got the same index there. Best of luck...
Good luck with your cycle.
I was complete on 11/30 and the letter I got was dated 1/3/08. It was just a regular sized envelope - single paged letter - via snail mail. Good luck to you.
No - nothing about encouraging me to reapply. Just said something about the fact that they reviewed my academic, nonacademic, and performance on the LSAT in comparison to the other candidates.
Have you heard anything from SLU yet? They've had my ap for damn near a month now and haven't even processed it. Blargh
Yup, I'll let you know just as soon as I hear something. You'll find out before I will. Are you full time? Did you apply to their provisional summer program as well?
How did they notify you? email or snail mail?
I wouldn't be surprised if you came off the waitlist around mid-march. Take a look at last year's figures.
Being deferred blows for both of us. Word.
The only thing I heard from Marquette is that we will hear something by the end of April. That something might be that we've been placed on waitlist and have to continue waiting, but we'll hear something
Gonzaga sent a large sized envelope w/ a scholarship offer included, and a few hours after I opened it I also received a confirmation of acceptance via email. Good luck to you also, hope you hear soon
How are people coming off of the deferred list already? I keep calling Miami and they keep saying they aren't going to look at them till april. Are people just making this up?
Just that their job placement in larger firms is lowest out of all of the pacific northwest schools (53rd out of 53). They are also pretty weak when it comes to tax, which is what I am interested in.... sooo... I don't know. Let me know if you hear some good things about it. I would like to go there since they gave me some money, but right now it's looking like i'll be headed else where.
I just heard back from Marquette, hope you get some good news soon. Have you been sending them e-mails, let them know it\'s your first choice, etc.?
Wow, you cast your net far and wide. That's probably pretty smart. Good luck, I hope you get a lot of acceptances.
