congrats on usd. I hope to receive a similar response. Our numbers are fairly close to one another, so it gives me some hope. Also, do you think there was anything specific about your app that set you apart from the rest and also as to helping you receive that scholarship? Thanks and bests with the rest of the apps

well, first off, good luck w/loyola... is loyola your first choice? have you visited usd and/or loyola? what'd u think? you seem to have applied to mostly ca schools, are you originally from here or do you just wanna be here? in all honesty, the schools i applied to were not at all educational decisions...they were VERY random picks grounded in poor reasoning ;p well, again, g/l with loyola!

your $$ at USD

is that 18k loans or a grant?

USD and Loyola

I am very impressed. I wish I would hear from USD already. The campus is sure a lot nicer than Loyola, but Loyola has a great reputation. Bottom line, I'd love either. Hope to see you at one of them. I'm still trying to figure out the wait list thing at Loyola.

i'm heading to usd...unless i get into hastings or usc (neither of which i'm holding my breath for)...go to usd =)...the loyola campus sucks ;p even tho i only live 15 min from there

not yet

I haven't found a place to live in SD yet, but I'm definitely looking for a place within 15-20 min of campus, probably somewhere within the USD/UCSD/SD State triangle

Thank you!

My acceptance at Loyola was for evening, part time. I would much prefer a full time day program. I just wrote Loyola and essentially withdrew, but I requested consideration for day. I doubt that it would happen. I will most likely be at Pepperdine. Btw, USD is one of the most beautiful schools in the country. Loyola is in the worst part of L.A. The mail compus of LMU is 15 miles away.

I just read what I wrote. I must be preparing for legal writing. Main campus, not mail.

still waiting?
Thursday, December 22 2005 at 07:00 PM

Have you decided on a school yet or are you dead set on waiting for Loyola?

Just a thought.
Sunday, September 18 2005 at 08:00 PM

Since you are going to move to California from Maryland, why in the heck would you want to be in downtown Los Angeles over San Diego. I'm stuck in L.A. for family issues. If being out of L.A. were an option for me, I'd pick USD over Loyola. USD is one of the nicest campuses in the country. It looks like we're both looking for a full time spot at Loyola. They've reinstated me to the full time wait list.

Feeling your pain
Sunday, September 18 2005 at 08:00 PM

You are so right. The waiting lists do suck. We are both splitters on scores and grades, but usually the higher LSAT wins. I am surprised I was accepted to Loyola . I was waited at Santa Clara and McGeorge. This I don't get. It will take a couple of more weeks for this to settle out. The second deposit phase is going on and there are many students holding multiple places. I hope you get Pepperdine or Loyola. I hope I'll see you at Pepperdine, where I will most likely end up. The real pisser for me is that like many, I did the Testmasters course. My last 3 exams were in the 170s and nothing below 167. Talk about choking.

well, good luck w/loyola wl! and if that doesn't work out, i'll see u at usd!

just came over to say congrats on loyola (i'm assuming you got off the waitlist from the comments you left me) are you going to be enrolled PT?

Loyola PT or FT
Sunday, September 18 2005 at 08:00 PM

I was officially withdrawn from the PT program at Loyola and placed back on the waiting list for FT. I have little hope of getting in. If you really want to go to Loyola, then don't do what I did. Pepperdine is cool with me, so I could play this game, but to be put back on the FT wait list you must give up your spot. I would go to USD full time over Loyola part time. If you get Pepperdine, I'd take it. If you'd go to USD full time over Loyola part time, then play the same game I'm playing.

Loyola

I will admit that Loyola isn't in the greatest neighborhood, but the campus is actually really pretty. I've lived in LA my entire life, even for college, and I had never seen Loyola until last week when I went to meet with someone in admissions to try to convince them to take me off the wait list since. From the outside it looks like one old and ugly building. When you go inside though, it's like a little oasis in the middle of Downtown Los Angeles. Even though it's just a law school, it actually has multiple buildings and a nice little campus. And this is coming from someone that wants to go there and could use your spot, so it must be true!

See you at lls, pt
Friday, April 14 2006 at 08:00 PM

From what I know, there's only ~70 of us in loyola evening so we'll taking the same classes for two years. from Baltimore, Maryland to downtown LA? sounds like quite a change of scenery we're all gonna to be pulling for each other in the evening section, whatever obstacles we have, so see you there

let me be the first on here..

congrats on FT! see ya in LA
