Extra Curricular Information

Spent more time delving in politics than studying as my GPA shows. Learned from this mistake, don't intend to repeat it in law school. After the election I decided I wanted to go to law school and really put my nose to the grindstone. Did really well in class after this point. Reflects an upward grade trend. Hope my LSAT carries the day.

Additional info & updates

I joined this board hoping to get feedback and insight from you guys. Please feel free to post your opinions about my prospective schools, and certainly let me know about scholarship potential. Thanks!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
11/25/05 - Thomas M. Cooley Acceptance letter came in a large manilla envelope. 100% tuition scholarship.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
12/12/05 - Deferred at Akron. Said a decision could come as soon as Feb. Keeping my fingers crossed.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've added my AIM if anyone wants to chat.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
12-22-05 - Accepted to WVU! Found out via their online status update. Hopefully they'll throw some money my way. :)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
12-31-05 - Accepted to Cleveland State. Happy New Year!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
1-26-06 - Accepted to Ohio Northern. Letter came in a large white envelope. Scholarships to be determined at a later date.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
2-3-06 - Ohio Northern called to offer a $19,000 scholarship. Makes ONU look more appealing.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
2-16-06 - Accepted to Drexel with a $7,000 renewable scholarship.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's getting near decision time. To be quite honest, if WVU offers me a scholarship, it's pretty much a done deal. Hoping to hear from them very soon.

on your acceptance. I think you have a good shot at Indiana-Bloomington, Washington and Lee and Washington U in St-Louis, all T1 schools with possible money. Your LSAT score is good and they tend to look more favourably on lower LSATS than alot of other schools do!!

Don't worry about it

With more and more students applying to law school we try to make it a science. And while many schools follow a strict formula for cutoffs, many do not and really look for interesting students willing to work hard. A family member of mine is an Admin officer at UofChicago and their range of gpa's was 2.2-4.0+ and LSAT was 155-180. Granted the 2.2 was not the 155, the point being numbers are not everything. You will do great, you sound like an interesting guy! Good luck!!!

Dayton

Sent my Application to Dayton around the 15th of October. So it took them about 6 weeks to get back to me.

Sorry

Sorry I took so long to reply to your posting. I was never notified when I was complete at Akron. I was able to add dates for submission and decision though. I hope this helps!

Akron

Thanks! Akron called yesterday to tell me I was accepted, but he said they make scholarship decisions in December or February. Good luck. I wish I had your LSAT score. I screwed up when I took mine, because I was getting 158-163s on every practice test.

Thanks

Congradulations on your acceptances. If you wouldn't mind I'm curious what your preference (ranking) of the schools that you have applied to.

I think you are selling yourself a little short with schools. Sorry if that's presuming too much and these are the schools you want. But a 163 and a good explanation for your grades might do more than you think.

ONU

Congrats on your scholarship to ONU. They were my safety school as well, but now I am definitely considering them with these $$ offers!
