I thought I was a shoe in at Mich. State. I was shocked. I guess my numbers are very polarizing (solid LSAT, horrible gpa) I can't explain it. I would like to go to UT, but I have a snowballs chance in hell. I am relegated to the 3 I state schools, Indiana, Illinois, and Iowa, and I will be trying to transfer after year 1. I really am not as dumb as my gpa would suggest. I just lacked motivation, and F___'d up.
for your kind words!!
My head is already beginning to hurt thinking about some of my choices. IU is still a real possibility for me and I will try to attend their event next weekend. I would love to take you up on the beer offer. Likewise, should I end up at Columbia, I will buy you one of those NYC happy hour $7 beers. I'll keep track of your profile and hope for the best.
I probably will be at UIUC, but I am waiting until after the open house on March 3 to make a final decision. Good luck getting off the waitlist, hope to see you drinking Champaign in the fall.
to you my fellow low gpa buddy
Tulane accepted me 3 days after my complete date so I'm guessing it's definitely not 100% yet. They even sent me a travel voucher to visit for free so i'll be doing that before deciding anything. You should def throw them an app if you can, your lsat will get you in. Congrats on your acceptances man, I'll be checking to see where else you get in. Oh and yes laziness in undergrad is essential as we have proven.
I know what you mean. Thanks for the comments. I secretly wanted USD anyway. I economically wanted Utah but that law school is a hole anyway. I can't imagine more of the same for 3 more years anyway. .
No worries. L&C and Indiana are both great schools -- if I was choosing between Utah and L&C, I would take L&C any day. I think Utah rejected me because I made it clear in my personal statement that Utah was not my first choice -- I don't think they liked that much. As long as you didn't do that, you still have a shot.
I have mixed feelings about Tulane. I have read that the job market, housing, and other variables that impact the quality of life are relatively good around the law school. I am leaning towards a focus in public interest. Tulane may be the pefect place to gain valueable experience b/c the city needs so much help. If you have a shot at getting in this would be the admissions cycle to do it. Good luck with whataver law school you choose.
hey congrats on your acceptances and good luck on your pendings, hook 'em horns!!! I am rooting for you... But your friend went to both UCLA and UoP- what does he/she do now? I'm just curious :)
..for the kind words, Utahman. I hope you get into Illinois - That's where I'll probably end up too.
i like how you had to follow up your comment with a disclaimer in case i was one of those uptight girls that would get all pissed at you for saying that ;-) anyway, good luck with u of i!! i have a ton of friends there for UG and they all love it! and i always had a great time when i'd go to visit. i'm sure you'll be hearing good news soon =)
My dad went to kent way back in the day. Huge congrats on Indiana, good luck w/the rest!
for the comment, and congrats on IU-B, that is a great school! I am sure you will have a great admission cycle..and best of luck to Tulane especially, one of my favs!
katrina did throw a wrench in my plans too...I am from the MS coast, which will be looking pretty rough for a while now - that is actually one of the reasons that I would like to go to Tulane, so I can be close to home to help my friends and fam. rebuild...But, I was in n.o. last week right before mardi gras, and the garden district and quarter looked pretty good, most everything is back open, and midtown looks good, but everything else...eh...If I get in, I will just be worried about housing, it will be tight come the end of the summer, I guess we will have to see....too bad for your 'rents, are they planning on going back? it is just a hard situation....
Big ups to a fellow high lsat/low gpa splitter. If I may ask a personal question: when did you go complete at IU? I've been waiting on them to give me a decision for a couple of months now! Good luck with the rest of those apps!
How and when did you hear about your deferral from IL?
On your acceptances, good luck on the rest!
And congrats on all your acceptances so far. Looks like you'll have some good choices by the end of the cycle - and it's always nice to have one of your first choices all set. As for me, I don't really know where I'm going yet - still keeping my hopes up for Yale, but we'll see. I'll be checking your profile for updates - some of your additional info updates are hilarious! Good luck!
I sent the review to your e-mail. Take care,
what was your gpa again, I can't believe that some of these schools either rejected or waitlisted you. RIDICULOUS!
good job with these acceptances. i'm in at l&c too. maybe i'll see you there? hopefully, we'll both get into our waitlists.
Hope to see you at Tulane!
on law school!!
...chance that I will buy you a beer. Are you going to take the summer class? I've been out of school for a while, so I am looking forward to starting early. I'll keep you posted via e-mail.
I am with you on the low GPA thing... you aren't lower than mine are you? Good job on the acceptances!
Rejected at Michigan State and admitted at IU-B and DePaul. This is one of the strangest profiles I've seen. Where do you want to go? Congratulations on your acceptances.
