I am originally from Houston, TX

*All scholarship money is per year
*All received dates are dates reports were requested
*Numbers to the left are Chiashu percentages
*All decision dates are those specified on the letter, unless otherwise specified

Original LSDAS GPA was a 3.72. After receiving a 4.0 for the fall semester, I resubmitted my transcript and 3.75 became my new GPA.

10/27/07- LSAC Forum in Atlanta. Had a good time, got a lot of contact info.

11/14/07- Visited Emory. FELL IN LOVE. Please let me in!

12/3/07- All apps sent off!

12/23/07- Got an app fee for DePaul. Why not?

1/4/08- My contact at WashU says that she just submitted my app for review. Please God, let me get in!

1/17/08- Received first acceptance to law school. Thank you Mercer for giving me that honor

1/18/08- Visited Mercer for the Open House. Not too interested anymore.

1/22/08- Getting very impatient. So, I call WashU to check my status. I mean does it really take 3+weeks to determine if I am right for your school? After giving the receptionist my full name, she responds by saying, "It shows here that you were admitted. Did you not receive anything from us?" My heart is fluttering. Are my dreams coming true? She tells me to hold so she can be sure. When she returns, she says that my file is still in review, and I should hear back in a couple of weeks. At this time, I had not been accepted. MAJOR BLOW!!!!!!!!!

1/23/08- Checked Tulane Status Checker and was greeted with an Acceptance! Yay! Go GreenWave! Email letter mentioned that scholarship money would be offered to me in the acceptance pack. I sure hope it gets here soon. Since my family is from New Orleans, it would feel like going home again

1/24/08- Called WUSTL again. I just couldn't let it go. Hopefully, someone different will pick up and won't remember the mistake made two days ago. The receptionist connects me to my contact who tells me- I AM IN!!!!!!!!!! They are reviewing my file for scholarship money! Please God let WUSTL give me some money!!!!!!!!! I can't even breath. Just very excited. Mass txt msgs go out ASAP!

Soon after, Loyola New Orleans gives me a phone call offering $33,000 per year. Wow! I am hot this week!

1/28/08- Came home to a cute tote bag from Tulane! Yay. Opened the bag and the folder and found an acceptance letter AND A DEAN'S SCHOLARSHIP FOR $30,000. OMG! I really want to cry. This is GREAT news, but definitely makes the decision even more tougher. Any help?

1/29/08- DePaul acceptance in the mail. Big envelope that says, "Welcome to DePaul" on it. Nice scholarship, but not nice enough.

2/4/08- Small envelope from LSU! No mention of scholarship money :(

2/9/08- Small envelope from Georgia State. One letter acceptance with Class selection and Immunization forms.

2/14/08- Came home to a WONDERFUL Valentine's Gift- Full scholarship to LSU (includes tuition and non-resident fees). I only have to remain in good standingThis is getting harder and harder. Letter dated 2-6-08.

2/20/08- Receive email of scholarship offer from Wash U. I will be at the ASD on Friday.

3/7/08- Email rejection from Harvard

3/9/08- Waitlist from Emory, dated 2/26/08. I doubt I stay on, but who knows

3/25/08-UT waitlist via status checker

3/28/08- LOVED the WUSTL ASD!!!!

3/31/08- Received my Vandy waitlist today. I don't know yet if I will stay on. Lot's to think about

4/5- Recieved WL at UH. Pretty shocked, but whatever, I definitely wasn't going there after all of my other great options.

After much deliberation, I chose Tulane Law School. It was the better choice for me financially and regionally. Best of luck to everyone this cycle and those to follow.

Congrats on your acceptances! I'm from IL and WUSTL is an amazing school-great prospects for top firm jobs-granted, if that's what you're looking for. If you want to stay local in the future, then Tulane will suit you well. Good luck on Emory!

Wash U is amazing. I really think that's the only thing i can possibly say. The school takes unbelievable care of it's students, everything is top notch quality. Gorgeous building/library. Great deans/faculty. They really go above and beyond for their students. And everyone seems to like each other, instead of being in cutthroat competition with each other.

Thanks and Congrats

Thank you, and congratulations to you on all your acceptances and scholarships, as well. I thought Wash U was a great place. A fantastic building that's only going to get better (they are in the midst of a big renovation and construction project that's supposed to be done by August). The people there all seemed great, and very eager to help. I had a lot of e-mail conversation with them before I visited, and they almost always responded to my e-mails within a few hours. Also (and this isn't going to be true for everyone), St. Louis just seemed like an ideal place for me. I'm from a small town, but I live in Nashville now. I'm not necessarily into the huge cities (New York, Boston, Chicago), but I like a place that has stuff going on. St. Louis seemed exactly that to me. I would definitely recommend visiting. Good luck with everything!

Hey, congrats on GSU. I was wondering when your status changed and what it said each time as well as what it currently says? When you went to that forum, did you meet the GSU admissions committee? Man, I really wish I went.

You should thank God for Affirmative action. You got a smarter person's spot and their money.

I didn't have to be lucky

Honey, I just had to be smart.

Hey!

I just wanted to say hi and to congratulate you on your acceptances because YOU'VE EARNED THEM! We have similar numbers and we've applied to some of the same schools. I was also accepted to WUSTL and I was wondering if you were considering going there?

Hey! Right now, Wash U law is my top choice. I'm a senior at Wash U so I already know some of the black law students and I've only heard great things about the law school! While your in town for the ASD, feel free to contact me by email and maybe we can meet (which will be great if we both decide to go to WUSTL law).

Thanks!

Thanks for the congrats! I don't know where I'm headed yet, but the $$$ and onsite visit certainly makes them a serious contender.
