Additional info & updates

Double Major in History and Political Science. My primary legal interest is Constitutional Law. Makes sense with my majors, huh? :)

I'm taking the LSAT in October. Currently scoring 152 and desperately trying to break into the 160's to give myself a shot at BU/BC.
UPDATE: Scored 154 (9/23/08)
UPDATE: Scored 156 (10/1/08)
UPDATE: Scored 157 (10/2/08)

So far, I have three letters of recommendation lined up .....
One from the State Senator I worked for who actually knows me pretty well, so I'm hoping for a good letter ... And two from my advisors at Simmons who I've had classes with and got A's in.

About the LOR

I think the LOR from the senator should be sufficient and because he knows you so well, it'll probably be a strong rec. I'm getting one of my TAs, who's a former lawyer getting her Ph.D. now, my intern supervisor at Amnesty Int'l, and my professor, whom I took 3 classes with, and he's a Fulbright Scholar. I hope those are pretty strong. I know all of them really well, and that helps. Good luck!

Thanks! My best advice with the LSAT is to definitely do as many practice tests as possible under the same conditions you'll face on test day. Also, after you've taken a practice test, go back through the questions you missed and try to figure out why your answer was wrong and why the right answer is right. Understanding your mistakes can definitely pay off. Anyway, good luck on the LSAT and hope you have a great cycle!

Boston

Good guess, I'm from Newton. I'm sure your LSAT will improve, mine did. I agree with the tip to take as many FULL tests under actual conditions as you can, and do NOT neglect your strengths at all, practice everything equally. Also, rumor has it that people from admissions offices browse these, so I might not mention stuff about preferring one school over another on this site. Just a thought. Best of luck.

You obviously have experience with the Boston area. What do you think about Suffolk? Is it a big waste of money? I really want to go to Boston but I know that Suffolk or Northeastern will be the only shots I have considering my GPA unless I get high 160's or above on the LSAT.

BU/BC

Hey! Just joined this site but I saw BU and BC are your first choices and I'm in the same boat. I stayed in Boston for a month this summer and just fell in love with it! I just took the LSAT for the first time this past Sat. and I'm now playing the horrible waiting game. Just wanted to say good luck!

Best Wishes

Just saw your profile and noticed that we pretty much have the same numbers and are interested in applying to some of the same schools. Best wishes this cycle.
