Hey there, I know the news from Berkeley wasn't good, but please stay positive. You have applied to some amazing schools and they would all be lucky to have you. I hope you get nothing be acceptances from here on out. Good luck!
Phoenix +1
Are you planning to attend law school in the fall or re-take the LSAT and apply next cycle? IIRC, you mentioned on TLS that you got in the upper-150s on diagnostics, so I'm sure that with some additional prep you could get into the 160s range and be a much more competitive candidate for Boalt.(As you know, they love high GPAs, which you already have). Either way, best of luck!
How did you prepare? Are there any particular question types that are tripping you up? If you're going to take a course, I would highly recommend TestMasters (I've increased almost 20 points with them, and I still have plenty of time before June to further improve). If TM doesn't offer classes near where you live or you can't afford, get the PowerScore "Bibles" trilogy. (The PS and TM approaches are virtually identical).
Well, you're in luck, because LG is the easiest section to improve on. It's still my "Achilles Heel", too, but I've definitely increased my speed and accuracy. One tip that has greatly helped me is figuring out time-saving inferences after reading the scenario and rules and before diving into the questions. Find out the numerical distribution (if it's a grouping game), combine rules with variables in common, find points of restriction, and always deduce the parameters of the game (i.e. which variables can go first/last?) Hypotheticals from previous questions can be helpful in figuring out later questions. Also, make photocopies of the games. Re-do any ones that you got at least one wrong on or took an inordinate amount of time on.(Re-doing RC and LG is generally not so beneficial, b/c you tend to remember the right answers!) I hope that helped, and let me know if you need any more LG pointers!
Keep your head held high! I feel great things coming from Davis for you :). I am still waiting on a response from them and UCLA and I went complete at UCLA quite some time ago. By any chance, did you call and ask them to render a decision sooner? I am thinking of doing this, but I don't want to rush them into an unfavorable decision.
I hope you have a great cycle and that you get into a UC!!! Good luck on your cycle!
