Additional info & updates

I have 3 LSAT Scores: 161, 158, 167 in that order.

The decisions dates reflect the date on the decision letter.

8k/year at Minnesota. I think they take the higher score while many others average, otherwise, I have no idea why they gave me such a nice scholarship.

I have withdrawn my application from Wake Forest.

I am on reserve at Cornell.....wonderful.....I'm sure they use this list a lot. Anyway, I will attend Cornell if accepted, otherwise Minnesota here I come.

6/10/05 - Moved from Reserve to WL at Cornell. I'm gonna stay on the list, and start praying.

Best of luck with Cornell, UMich! Your deferral gives me hope.

Thanks

But I think if you apply Early Decision or Early Admission they will either accept or defer you. Thus, it's my suspicion my remaining schools are simply waiting to send out my rejections in the large batch. I'm getting pretty set on Minnesota, but thanks for the kind thoughts.

Re-take
Sunday, August 21 2005 at 08:00 PM

Iffy, I don't know if you're going to check my account again, but I had applied to Minnesota two years in a row with my previous scores and been denied. I applied to Wake, Minnesota, and Emory last year, and I was denied at all three. With my new score, I was accepted. Obviously you want to do your best on your first try, but I don't think re-taking has a major negative impact. Some schools will take the higher score, others take the average. Except for losing a year, there aren't any drawbacks, unless you do worse of course. It all depends on how well you think you can do. I knew I could do better.....I choked a bunch of times, and I wasn't willing to settle. Let me know if I can offer you any more information. Best of luck.

Thanks

klbader. I'll definitely check it out.

UMN
Wednesday, June 01 2005 at 08:00 PM

I went out and visited last weekend. It's a great place, and somewhere I feel I will be very comfortable. I am still waiting on Vandy and Penn, however, and would need to visit if anything positive came from either school (although I think things are doubtful at Penn). I also want to take a look at BU before withdrawing from their waitlist.

UMN

Hey! Thanks for your post on my profile, I appreciate the UMN info. I'll be going out there in the next month to visit, and will probably have some questions for you before then. From everything I've heard it seems like a great school and a supportive environment. Just curious, is there a particular field of law you're interested in?

Matt, My withdrawal from Wake has been posted under Additional Information for a long time. Good luck.

MN and LSAT scores

I used to know Collins Byrd at UMN and he once said that if there's a 6+ point-spread in your scores, his committee will take the higher. 6 was his magic number. Good job on retaking the test and have fun there next year!
