1/18/11 - Sent out 5 applications thus far. Got an emails from Cooley and Faulkner acknowledging their receipt of my application. Still waiting on another LOR to send out a few more applications.
1/19/11 - LSAC posted my new LOR... moving forward with applications! Sent out 3 more applications today. Finishing up the school-specific personal statements in order to send out a few more applications within the next week. LoyNO acknowledged the receipt of my application today, but no online status check username & pw... hmmm no worries!
1/20/11 - Email from NCCU acknowledging my application and providing status checker info. Plan on sending out a few more applications today.
1/21/11 - Decision has been rendered and mailed out from Faulkner (via status checker) ... i think i am a little nervous! :-/
First decision coming soon...
1/22/11 - Email from Florida Coastal encouraging me to apply... Sent off 3 more applications today... Loyola - New Orleans status checker reads "File Complete & Ready For Review"
1/24/11 - Faulkner... REJECT! :-/ slightly puzzled but hey whatever... IN at Cooley... Received a packet from Charleston encouraging me to apply by the Feb. 1st to be considered for a merit scholarship :-) Bitter-sweet day! :::shrugs::: uhn... Their loss! Still wait'n on other schools... oh yeah, emails that acknowledged application receipts from Mississippi College, Charlotte, and Arkansas - Little Rock... #allsmiles!
2/5/11 - "In Review" for NCCU, LoyNO, Charlotte, and U of Arkansas-Little Rock as of 2/2... University of Alabama completed and sent acknowledgment email. Sent out applications for Appalachian, Texas Southern, and William Mitchell today... Still plan on sending out FAMU, Howard, Regent, & Nova no later than next Sunday. #STILLsmile'n!
2/8/11 - Mississippi College status checker reads "A decision letter has been mailed" hmm... anywho, most application statuses say "In Review"... sent Nova application out today
2/11/11 - DINGED at Charlotte.... really? WOW... i think i am speechless! i quit! smh... DINGED at LoyNO via status checker... pssh... idk how many rejections i can take in 1 day
2/18/11 - DePaul - Rejected... MC was a rejection as well, after being invited to apply to FCSL they rejected me and now refuse to respond to my email. hmm... total of 6 rejections so far... 1 acceptance... still waiting on others schools. Been "In Review" at UALR & NCCU since the 2nd (lol... consideration lasted longer than LoyNO & Charlotte) :::shrugs::: Come on NCCU or Regent!
3/9/11 - Dinged at UALR if you all had not yet noticed which happened a while ago but i hadn't posted in a bit only bcuz there haven't been exciting changes in my statuses. Hamline, NCCU, Regent, & UA all "In Review" Texas Southern & Charleston "File Complete & Ready to be Sent to Committee" and Appalachian "Application on Hold" whatever that means [if you know please enlighten me, thanks]! I sounds like waitlist but i would assume that the status should read waitlisted (or maybe not). Anywho, my seat deposit for Cooley is due April 1 so I need to figure out what I'm gonna do... SMH! waiting stinks!
3/23/11 - Dinged at Hamline... idk that i care too much... Offered AAMPLE at Nova considering doing that and deferring admission at Cooley until Jan. as a "just in case" Still waiting on UA, Regent, NCCU, Texas Sothern, Charleston, & now Loyola (Chicago). So ready for this cycle to be over!!! I just wanna get this law education on its way! What do you all know about AAMPLE?
4/1/11 - Nothing new except Regent sent me a couple things to fill out for FinAid, just passed the 8 week mark waiting on NCCU, sent in AAMPLE deposit in case I do not hear from Regent or NCCU (accepted) before 4/6, & deferred Cooley admission until January 2012 (just in case)... If the Lord wills, I will get into either Regent (potential of spiritual growth w/supporters & like-minded ppl) or NCCU (tuition is amazingly low)... Y'all pray for me please :)
4/4/11 - Rejected @ Appalachian, which is fine (less to have to decide between)... "Waitlisted" at William Mitchell with is cool because they have a great PT program... still waiting to hear from Regent, NCCU, UA, Charleston, Loyola-Chicago, & Texas Southern... still crossing my fingers&toes for Regent or NCCU tho! :) #allsmilesoverhere!!! As of right now Nova's AAMPLE is an option and I still have Cooley in Jan. as a backup...
4/6/11 - Dinged @ Loyola Chicago... thats fine considering I don't really want to stay in IL... went from "In Review" @ NCCU to "Complete & In Review" which is weird because I just talked to the admissions office yesterday and they said I was on the list to receive a letter yesterday... hmm ok... well still waiting on NCCU & Regent
4/9/11 - As of date, Rejected at Regent via small white envelope dated 4/5/11 (this one hurt more than my 1st rejection...) :( not that any rejection feels good but ugh! Got a letter from Loyola-Chicago confirming my rejection (well, as a note to LUC, i got that memo via email, didn't feel much different but I am sure no1 wants to be notified TWICE of their rejection)... today is not a good day but it is what it is! If God wills, I will be accepted to my "other" top choice NCCU... hmm... otherwise I have to come up with this $3200 for Nova's AAMPLE... geez this cycle sucks for me... well, I am leaving it in His Hands and if it be His will, I'll be in NC! Wherever I end up, I will be successful bcuz I am His child! Have a great day guys!
4/15/11 - Apparently UA has made a decision... i will be waiting on the mail or phone call for the next few days I suppose... Not particularly expecting great news from them considering sending in that application was a leap of faith in itself! But God is able and HeCan!! Well, no worries... no stress still waiting on NCCU! God Bless!
4/19/11 - As expected... a small white envelope ---> Rejection from UA... today is still a good day! :) this process is ordained & blessed by God... for maturation and humbling. In all this experience has been trying but ultimately a test of my faith in Him... patiently waiting on Him & NCCU's decision!
4/20/11 - Still waiting... NCCU status date has changed (don't know whether or not that's a good thing)... Charleston status date change as well to today's date... called Texas Southern today & they said it could take a few more months... lol sadness! Anywho, gotta stay prayed up & optimistic about NCCU!!! :)
4/25/11 - I pray everyone had a wonderful Holy Week & Resurrection Sunday!!! So there is now a Decision Status & Decision Status Date on my NCCU status page... :) Hope that means they are getting closer to rendering a decision! Dated today status says "In Committee Review" could be anywhere from 2-8 weeks fool'n with them tho. Anywho keep me in your prayers!
4/29/11 - After a stressful day of work, I was welcomed home by an envelope from NCCU... could it be??? THANK YOU LORD... Definitely thanking the LORD for answering my prayers!! He knows what is best even when we are unsure... the Lord sends clouds of hope and I am thanking Him with every ounce of me for the opportunity at PBAP for NCCU... top choice! Work ethic is of utmost importance and I will prove myself (through Christ's strength) that NCCU has made the right choice in taking a chance on me [well the Christ in me that is]!!! This is quite possibly the best feeling in the world... aside from knowing Christ... Thank you Jesus!!!! Patience, prayer, & faith pays!!!
5/7/11 - All I can do is laugh at this rejection (Charleston... only applied because they asked me to and sent a waiver)... the devil is trying to discourage me but guess what!?!? I got into my TOP CHOICE so God wins [AGAIN]!!! Take that [loser] devil... u have no power nor say-so over a Child of God!! Jesus got this & He got me!
5/13/11 - After working an O/C shift today, I opened the mailbox to a large white envelope from William Mitchell... I am IN!!! Wow... the Lord never ceases to amaze me and all I can do is thank Him for His Favor!! I am at a lost for words because after going through a stage of discouragement God has found a way (once again) to prove to me and those around me that He is in control!!! Thank God for favor & grace!!
6/18/11 - So within the last few weeks there have been quite a few developments. 1) Acceptance into TxSU came the night before I left for NCCU's PBAP program. 2) Attended PBAP at NCCU which was an amazing experience! The most stressful 2weeks of my life but I appreciate the experience and cannot wait to get the acceptance package within the next 2weeks!! 3) Met some of the most amazing future lawyers EVER! 4) Fell in love with my top choice! 5) I had an epiphany regarding my life and law school (SUPER excited about the things that God has planned for me)! As i watch the Lord unveil my future, He never ceases to amaze me! He is absolutely AMAZING, to say the least! I will remain in prayer in order to officially end this cycle with a bang! My steps are ordered by the MostHigh and I know that He favors me... He will get the glory out of this story! #LivingAfairytale! [God Bless you all and you will get an update soon]
7/5/11 - Apparently my mail got lost... makes me sad that I was not able to see the "Congratulations..." but to God be the glory anyhow!!! I am OFFICIALLY IN at NCCU!!! Super excited! ended this cycle with a grandSlam!!!! :) #GodisGood
