Good to hear from you, bro. I'm not sure which school I will choose yet. Up in the air right now. I'll be talking with my Pastors and my parents to make a quality decision, plus going on a lot of visits. Have you taken the LSAT yet?
I dont have a #1 choice. I wanted to be open minded about the whole process and not put all my emotional eggs into one basket. I will be more than happy if I get into any tier 1 or tier 2 that is in NYC, Boston, PA, or NJ. I am trying to be as realistic as possible so I dont set myself up for a big emotional letdown... Did you take the LSAT yet?
I am glad to know you took the LSAT! Congrats, I am sure you did well. Make sure to get all your applications in now, so that schools have them and can begin to consider you the day your score populates on your lsac profile. Best of luck to you.
Hey....If I had things my way I would probably have to say that UC Hastings would be my number #1 choice. However, I would probably lean towards going to a school with better scholarship opportunities. I hope your cycle goes well!
Hello, my top choice is probably USF, i got waitlisted there last cycle i applied so im hoping for positive news this time around, what is your top choice?
Yeah MSU is a good school and they give alot of financial aid as well, hope u get in and good luck with the rest of your cycle!
Don't worry, I'll be withdrawing from MSU by the end of January. Good luck!
I'm not going because i got into University of Illinois and it is ranked 21st and avg median salary is 145K. The legal field is harsh so higher ranking has a strong correlation to employment prospects. Visit www.top-law-schools.com to view profiles and read up on that information. Two of my fraternity brothers from undegrad currently go to MSU. One got in via full-ride and the other via the summer conditional program. They both seem to like it. MSU has a great alumni base that will serve you well in the state of MI but is very limiting to employment outside of that realm. It's a good school that should crack the top 100 in the next few years.
Thanks! I applied to more than two schools. I did about 10 apps. I've just been adding them on here after I receive the decision. I was accepted to UMKC today with an out of state tuition waiver so I just added that one today. I haven't heard a final decision from MSU yet but they did send me an e-mail asking for a Why MSU statement for a scholarship up to $17,500.
MSU does need diversity. I went to undergrad in MI, and I dated a guy from MSU. MSU has a nice campus, if you like Michigan. The problem with MSU is that you will be competing with Michigan grads, but it is a strong state school if you want to stay there. The location could be better (and make sure you have your passport because you will more than likely make some trips into Windsor).
Good luck to u as well Bro
Esquire21, Thanks for the kind words! It appears that our numbers are similar. I'm not sure if shooting for the stars (in my case) was 'heroic' or just plain crazy, but I figure there is nothing to lose, right? Which of your schools is your top choice? Best of luck in your cycle, bro. Keep me updated on how things progress!
Thanks. Same to you.
Esquire21, thank you for the warm wishes! I wish you the best on your cycle too, you already have a few acceptances under your belt so good luck on the rest of your cycle! =)
Thanks! Congrants on your acceptances as well and good luck with the rest of your cycle.
Thank you! Good luck to you as well.
I'm curious to know more about the AAMPLE program that Phoenix School of Law has invited you to. I too have a 144 LSAT, am applying to Phoenix School of Law along with U of A and ASU. However, I'm also, "retesting" this February. However, the assistant admissions dean, contacted me and asked me to apply early. I need to know what the AAMPLE is, so I can decide whether or not to apply early and get into that program OR wait for a higher LSAT. Anything you can tell me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Hello Esquire21, Thank you for the information about the AAMPLE program. I will look into it this evening. However, please know that Phoenix School of Law is no longer, "provisionally accredited." They received their "full" accreditation this past July of 2010! This is great news for us both! Thanks again.
Did Phoenix School of Law actually provide you with the AAMPLE link for Florida Coastal, as if they don't have a link of their own? I visited the website below, and it's not even for their school. Please advise and thank you again. http://www.fcsl.edu/aample
I'm pretty excited about that, just because when I first got my LSAT score back, people on-line were saying things like, "oh, no, law schools won't want that score!" But it's just a matter of being persistent and writing a good statement and that kind of thing, you know? Good luck to you on your cycle as well! The waiting game makes me so anxious!
I would never go to Texas Southern, I just applied because they were taking numbers close to mine and it was just an option, y'know? I'm holding out hope for any of the CA schools I applied to, otherwise, I probably won't even go to law school, to be honest.
Thank you for the clarification about the AAMPLE program. One last question. Does Florida Coastal conduct the AAMPLE courses for all of the schools you listed, that participate in AAMPLE? For example, if Phoenix School of Law waitlisted someone and said, "Attend AAMPLE," would one do so at Florida Coastal and then proceed with Phoenix OR does Phoenix have their own version of AAMPLE right in Arizona? Thanks again esquire21. You've been most helpful!
I don't know, I'm pretty indifferent about law school, and am also looking in to the GRE for grad school for something completely different (obviously). And yeah, but I'm from CA and I don't see myself leaving SoCal, like, ever, unless a school offers me a bit more money than the $4,000 that Phoenix is offering...
Thank you for your congrats and congratulations on your acceptances so far.
Hola esquire21, I wanted to know if you will be applying to Nova Southeastern University? It is close to Miami, great weather and great people! Keep me updated on your successes!
Thank you for your kind words. Congrats to you on a solid start to your cycle thus far!
Good luck to you as well! Are you considering participating in one of the conditional programs?
Thanks for the support. I'm sure you'll have some good news coming your way. I'm proof that schools look past just the GPA and LSAT as Law School Predictor had me as a deny for almost every school that I have been accepted to.
Are we twins?! Almost identical numbers and background. I'm in at Coastal too! Where are your top choices?!
Thanks and good luck with your cycle. I admire your tenacity; we need more people with "average" numbers like ours to feel empowered.
Hey thanks for the comment and the congrats. We seem to have some similar schools so best of luck to you.
From what I've read, it's actually recommended (at least by Kaplan), to take the GRE BEFORE the new exam comes out in August, due to the fact that many times, when a new version of an examination comes out, scores drop (last time the GRE was changed, the average score dropped 7 points). That's a really big risk.
Hola esquire 21! I wanted to share with you that I got into Florida Coastal!!!!!!!
While the money from Howard looks good now, it's not fully guaranteed for all three years so I probably wouldn't take a chance on it. Right now my top choices are Duke/Georgetown but I'm still holding out hope for my Northeastern schools :::crosses fingers:::
Esquire21, it's okay, you weren't meant to freeze your butt off at Marquette anyway. You will do just fine. If you look at my cycle, I only applied to warm states! Phoenix, Florida, and Charlotte have a LOT less snowfall. I can't wait to see how the rest of your cycle turns out! I'll be watching.
Will I see you in FCSL? I hope so!
we have the same lsat score. I just received mine today and was going to go jump off a bridge but then I stumbled across your page, and got a ray of hope. Hopefully someone will accept me. Your page is inspiring!
Esquire21 thanks for the advice, I know I should apply to some HBCU's but I really dont want to leave California. I want to practice law in the bay area so I was under the impression that I need to go to law school in the bay area. I have my fingers crossed about Golden Gate. If I dont get in then I'll unfortuantely do another cycle. Have you decided on where you want to go to school???
I was wondering if you got invited to the LEO Program @ MSU? My status via online states I am denied but I received something in the mail encouraging me 2 apply to this program.
I am definitely taking advantage of the Leo Program. Even though its conditional its one of the best conditional programs with one of the highest acceptance rates. Good luck to you with the rest of your cycle.
Screw Louisville. Their loss! That would be awesome about ONU! Did you get invited to interview for the Summer Starter Program? I still haven't heard how it went, so I'm really curious to find out. I don't know why I haven't heard from WVU or Pitt...I really don't think there's a snowflake's chance in hell I'll even get waitlisted. But there's no way of knowing anything until the fat lady sings. And man, am I ready for her to sing. Where are you leaning on going at this point?
Hey! Thanks for the message! I have absolutely NO desire to wait a year and re-take the LSAT! Honestly, I will go where ever I get in pretty much. Im sure something will work out. I have thought about Cooley. I think I probably will apply...if nothing else it would be a guaranteed acceptance which would be very nice!!! Where are you trying to go?
I put accepted because I am accepted into their special program. If the SP was not next to it then It would imply that I am accepted full blown but the SP is there.
I am a public servant at heart so civil rights law, public defender, etc. I want to make myself assessable to low income individuals. Also, military service is a strong possibility since I was raised a military brat. Corporate law is not a consideration so the usnews rankings and all the hype is a moot point for me.
hahaha ohhhh you might have just inspired me to apply to more schools. Starting to have my doubts about AAMPLE. Really thought I had a chance at ONU, but still haven't heard from them. Not a good sign! Have you considered Ave Maria?
Looks like it's going to be Catholic. I just had an interview with them today and feel that they really would like me to come to their school. I visited University of Baltimore a lot in the last few weeks and felt welcomed, but they outright REFUSED to give me any scholarship money. I was waitlisted at American but refuse to pay that much if I got in. No chance of scholarship off the waitlist. I was waitlisted at Maryland and plan to visit next week but feel like Catholic might just be the right place for me. What about you? Shoot me an email about your progress. I see you were waitlisted at Maine. I'm going to withdraw there tomorrow so you may have some breathing room.
Forgot to include it in my last post.
I actually got in to my top choice school (Western), so I'm going to be trying law school out.
Please e-mail me. I visited FCSL this weekend. I have a lot to tell you.
Hey! That's awesome! Congrats on getting an interview. What's your email? Or, just email me.
Haha, no worries I already withdrew! Is Maine your top choice? And I really have to figure that out. If I don't hear from CUNY, it's between NESL, Suffolk, Whittier, Southwestern, and Western State.
Maine is actually my first choice so i plan to wait it out until august. Unfortunately, i did see a post on TLS about the Maine waitlist and that theres about 150 people on the waitlist, so i dont think theres a great chance of getting off of it. Good luck though!

Hey Esquire21, I don't believe you read my "recent" message dated 4/11, as instead, you responsed to an email I sent you 4 months ago. My recent message read: It's been a while! What's new with you? Did you get to tour Ohio, and if so, what are your thoughts on what you might do this cycle? I'm curious about your update, as I'm rooting for you. Hope to hear from you soon! Let me know and thank you!
Thanks. So you've decided on Southern? Well at least you know. I'm still waiting.
Hey! Congrats on your cycle and making a decision! I bet that feels nice to know what your doing this fall! Best of luck to you! -Amy
Hey! If I were to get into Houston, I would for sure attend! If not, than I think I will be deciding between William Mitchell and ONU. I am going out to St. Paul on the 1st to visit the school and the town so that might help me make my decison :)!
Congrats to you also...Baton Rouge is going to be home for the next 3 years! YES
I will not be doing the Cleo program. Cleo has a 3 day jump start program in July that I might attend.
did you apply ft or pt at hamline?
So now...I probably will attend Cooley unless I am admitted to FAMU or TSU before August. How about you? Have you decided? Congrats on FAMU!
Congrats on your decision to attend Southern!!!
I think I didnt get in at NCCU because of my grade trend in undergrad. I got on AP my freshman year so I have an addendum for that but then pledged my last semester of undergrad so my last gpa of undergrad is poor. I went to NIU-Northern Illinois University. Good Luck at Southern! What made you choose them over the others?
...esquire! I appreciate it. =)
Well congrats sir! What changed your mind sir? I felt the excitement as I read "idaho idaho idaho" on my page... :) What new development(s) have I missed? Email me because I do not check this page regularly now.
Come on bruh..you know southern is not a respected law school. The white legal majority will not respect a J.D from there for a major big law position. I mean why even bother?? I know 2 brothas with 2.5's that got into TULANE!! So why you gotta f your future by going to to southern or any HBCU for that matter.
Thanks and same to you!
It's between CUNY(If I get in) and Hofstra(If I get off the waitlist. If neither of those work out then I will be going to St. Thomas. Congrats on Idaho!
Thank u and same to u!!! Congrats on Idaho!
Esquire21, You surprised me with your switch from Southern to Idaho! I am happy for you because it is a T3 school, like the one I will attend. I hope you like it there, in this dry state. I hope they treat you real good there as well, as I am familiar with how it lacks a certain diversity. I am so happy for you, you deserve it! YAHOO!
Esquire21, Scratch what I said about Idaho being dry (brown). I just looked up Moscow, Idaho and I personally think it's beautiful! Good for you, that you've bypassed the dry parts of Idaho!
It pained me to withdraw from idaho! the value of that school is amazing! You can actually garner in state tuition while living there. Enjoy, and I will bw down there to watch a few wolf pack games! A fellow wac rival!
Thanks esquire, congrats Idaho!
*on
Looks like I'm going to Maryland right now, but I'm still holding out for GW's waitlist!
If you are not going to go to FAMU will you pretty please withdrawal?!?
Whats up man? Did you end up getting into Maine?
How is idaho?? Come on..be honest..I know you wishing you went to FAMU or NCCU right now lol..i hope all is well!!
What law school are you attending?
Good luck with your cycle as well!
