Additional info & updates

4.17.10- rejected Quinnipiac. 2500 apps for 160 seats- my ass. I hate this process.

4.15-10- rejected from UCONN. I really wish schools would tell you the truth and say it's all a numbers game rather than give you false hope. This whole process blows.

4.5.10-rejected from John Marshall, Vermont, bummer.

3.26.10- accepted to Widener's TAP program via online status checker. All in all not a bad program-better than most except if granted admission, you are only accepted into part time day or evening for Fall. I will have to think about this, but am generally excited. Perhaps I may not have to move to Michigan after all.

3.23.10-rejected from Maine. I really hope the LSAT doesn't win again!

3.22.10-rejected from Franklin Pierce- not really surprised, but oh well. Will the anonymous person who posts stuff about not going to Cooley please explain why? I happen to know 3 people who went there, are practicing attorneys and are making close to 6 figures. I don't understand why it gets such a bad rap. Care to clarify?

2.28.10- Just got my new LSAT score- exactly the same 145. Looks like I will probably just goo to Cooley.... ARRRRRRRRRRGH.

1.23.10- Received notification that I was accepted to Nova's AAMPLE program. I don't know if I will go yet, but I'm 1.5 of 2 so far. Doing this the second time around proves the schools actually do look at things other than LSAT.

I'm retaking LSAT Feb 6, so a lot of my applications are on hold. We'll see though.

Low LSAT but lots of legal experience. Hoping for the best this time around.

Just signed up for the February 2010 LSAT. I found a LSAT prep course taught by a Professor at Quinnipiac. Will take prep course in February, but am applying now with my LSAT score as is with explanation that I am taking LSAT again in February. Hopefully will have some good news!

congrats on cooley.. what are your thoughts on that? I'm applying there and waiting to hear back. Other than the bad reputation about competition, it has everything in programs I want.

Thanks

I saw your comment! Thanks for the support. Are you worried? I see we're applying to similar schools. How do you feel about Feb LSAT? We should be getting it so soon! I feel like that could make or break us. At least you have some acceptances under your belt! I feel your pain :) Good luck!!

Have you thought about Ave Maria? I got in there, only one I have heard from yet. Its in a nice location and is better than Cooley!

The same thing happened to me with the LSAT - I got a 148 twice! I understand how upsetting it is. LSAT just isn't for everyone evidently. Good luck with your applications.

Your Cooley Question

Hey, we have similar numbers and I took the Feb LSAT too to try and bump up my 146 original score. But to answer your question base on some preliminary research, Cooley is a giant for profit law school with several campuses. It's similar to like a University of Phoenix but for aspiring lawyers. Personally, I find that Cooley isn't that bad a choice unless you have aspirations of getting into a BIGLAW type firm. I think it depends on one's goals and ambitions towards the study of law. As a recommendation, I say go to the highest ranked school that you can get into. That said, not all of us are going to Harvard (myself included). But what we do in law school is up to us.

Did you find out via status checker or did they email you? I'm still waiting on most of mine! Starting to get very worried...

I heard from WNE last week. I also asked for part-time and apparently it didn't help. Good luck to you, sorry about UConn..:(
