Advice for people applying in future cycles: don't overthink things. If you have an LSAT/GPA combo that is above a schools medians, you will get in with money. Don't waste your time applying to 20 schools because you are afraid you won't get accepted even though you have above median numbers. Also, apply early (before November). Finally, don't waste your time with crappy schools. If you have decent stats (like 160 and 3.6 ), apply to the strong regional/state school in your area, and then only strong targets or reaches from there. Unless you are going to Vandy or a t14 school, go to the best school in the area where you want to end up working.

Additional info & updates

3/9/10: Following a great ASW, I decided to commit to OSU. Generous scholly, in-state tuition, year-on-year increases in selectivity, and domination of the market in which I would like to practice all added up to a pretty clear decision. Cycle's over, its been fun.

2/28/10: Rejected at BC after getting deferred from EA. Don't care.

2/19/10: Rejected at Duke via email. Not unexpected.

2/9/10: Waitlisted at BU via a .pdf of a waitlist letter. Odd.

1/25/10: Finally got the reject email from Georgetown.

1/16/10: DARN. WL at Vandy and Washington and Lee.

1/14/10: Man, a big dry spell. Got acceptance letter from Pitt with the Golden Bookmark or whatever it is. Pretty cool. I have decisions mailed at both W&L and Vandy, not feeling too great about either for whatever reason. Also finally complete at Cornell. Hopefully I am nearing the home stretch.

12/21/09: In at Indiana-Bloomington via really impressive packet. Also under review at Duke.

12/18/09: Held at BC via small letter. BC seems to be holding a lot of people, at least based on what TLS is saying. Lame, guess i'll just have to wait some more, but it's better than WL/R. Also rejected at Illinois via email, contained all the typical "You are so great we wish we could have accepted you" BS. They are probably playing the rankings game, I wrote a "Why Illinois?" and my GPA was way above median, and my LSAT was just slightly below median. Lame that USNWR has that much power. Finally, received acceptance letter from Wisconsin. Super busy day, I'm going to watch Dexter.

12/17/09: In at Chicago-Kent via email. Still waiting on BC letter.

12/16/09: Anxiously awaiting my BC fate. Also accepted at UH, the status checker changed to say "admitted" next to the "Decision Rendered." So good news on that front, hopefully I will get some $$$ to make my decision making process more difficult.

12/15/09: In at Wisconsin via email. I am also "In Review" at Georgetown, Chicago-Kent, Pitt, and UIUC. "Decision Rendered" at Houston as well as my EA Decision being mailed from BC. Should be a lot of action in the coming week or so, hopefully good.

12/3/09: In at Cincinnati via email. Very happy, I visited and it is a nice school with a wonderfully helpful and kind staff. Also "Under Review" at Georgetown. I wonder how long it will take to print that rejection letter...

11/18/09: In at Indy-Indy. I could tell via status checker because the seat deposit section suddenly had monetary values. Received a call from the director of admissions the next day.

11/16/09: Rejected at ND. Applied ED, did not write "Why ND?" essay. A little surprised at the straight up rejection considering my stats and other acceptances, but hey, at least I don't have to decide where I am going by 1/29.

11/10/09: In at OSU-Moritz via email. Never received a status complete email, and their status checker didn't work for me for some reason, but this is great regardless. Said more information should be coming shortly, I am assuming via snail mail.

11/5/09: Accepted at W&M via status checker. Said "Congratulations! Admit Packet Mailed 11/4" under the Mailings heading. Super excited because this is the first decision, nice to get the cycle off strong. W&M is a great school too, so I'm quite pleased.

HAHAHA thanks! I am not expecting to get in, but I figured it was worth a shot. BUT-They will have to be pretty heartless to say no after reading my personal statement so we'll see. I don't know what I would do if I actually got in!! lol
