Additional info & updates

I put my schools in four groups (1s being my favorites and the 4s my safety schools)

First Acceptance - Drexel. Really excited about this one! I love Philly and they are offering me $14,000 yearly, another bonus! (Found out through the grape vine that the minimum GPA to keep this money is going to be dropped from a 3.0 to a 2.67. Goodnews for any and everyone considering Drexel!)

Recieved a letter from Valpo, it said that I would be accepted when some slots opened up. It's ok, I'd rather go to Philly than Valparaiso, Indiana.

Second Acceptance - Widener. Not that exciting, this was a saftey. Big white packet.

Third Acceptance - Roger Williams. Again, not that exciting, another saftey. Big white packet with a blue folder inside.

I withdrew from Valpo and Roger Williams. Holding out for better!

Fourth Acceptance - New York Law School. Small thick white envelope. Ehh. Its nice to rack up those acceptances, but I'd like to hear from one of my number 1s or 2s.

Withdrew from Widener.

Fifth Acceptance - Univeristy of Baltimore. I was checking my application status online via Peoplesoft (member ID and password comes with the "application complete" letter sent by the school). Webpage asks me to either accept or decline admission, then tells me that law school applicants can't accept/deline admission online, only over the phone (then the number). I guess this means I'm in. Probably get the decision in the mail soon. Doesn't really matter. I don't want to stay in Maryland, even though it would be sooo much cheaper than going anywhere else. I'll post a Decision Date when I get a paper copy.
Got the letter in the mail the next day. Yee haw.

Just came back from Accepted Students Day at Drexel. Makes me really want to go there. I think I am going to withdraw from NYLS and Baltimore soon. Ill wait out the rest of my apps too, see what comes out of them, but right now, I am 100% Drexel!

Sixth Acceptance - Capital. $11,000 scholarship. Another saftey. I'll withdraw today.

Waitlisted at Rutgers - Camden. That's ok. I'm not going to call them to have them keep my name on the waitlist. Not worth it. I'll just let the 30-day period pass and let my name fall off the list then.

Withdrew from U of Baltimore.

I sent in my deposit to Drexel. Still waiting to hear back from 6 schools, but the deadline is approaching and I wanted to get it in. I will withdraw from NYLS today.

First Rejection - Villanova. Ouch, that stings, particularly bad after all the wonderful news I've been getting. Oh well. Nova is really expensive, and not getting any money from them would've made my decision for me anyways. I guess thats one less withdraw e-mail I have to send (yes, I am the kind of person that always looks for the good in an unfortunate situtation)!

Second Rejection - U Pitt. Oh well. It was nice that one of my top choices came through first. Makes all the rejections easier to stomach. I wouldn't mind the rest of my schools saying no either, I really want to go to Drexel. I know this sounds bad but I really just want the acceptances to stroke my ego.

Hehe, if I had just applied to Drexel I coulda saved myself (ok, my parents) booku bucks on the rest of these applications!

Seventh Acceptance - Pace. Ridiculiously expensive school in a very cold part of New York. Thanks, but no thanks. I'll withdraw soon.

Waitlisted at Penn Dickinson. I might stay on it just for shits and giggles. But I really don't feel like putting forth the effort of sending in my updated transcript and having to deal with my school's horrible student services department.

Third Rejection - Brooklyn. Again ouch. But it makes my decision easier!

Rejected from Indiana. (Geez it took them long enough)The rejection is a surprise. But not upsetting, I wouldn't have gone there, even if they had offered me a full ride and an allowance! (You really couldn't pay me to move back to the midwest!)

Final count: 7:3:4
And with that, this experiance has come to an end. Its been real people! Good luck whereever you end up!

Congrats to you too. Yes, I sent my updated transcripts to LSAC (maryland's online system will do it for you). And then LSDAS sent my transcripts to everywhere I applied...even the school I wasn't interested in anymore. I didn't care about that, but maybe there would be a way for you to just have them sent to certain schools. Sending the transcripts hasn't seemed to help me yet at all, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed too. You might as well try it...you've got nothing to loose. Good luck to you!! Keep me posted.

Congrats on Drexel. I'm applying there for next fall. I think our numbers will be pretty similar.
