--------------------------------
4/13/07 -- Alas, my laziness of not withdrawing from Chicago resulted in a rejection. Strange to be rejected by a school I only applied to because of a fee waiver, which I would have -never- attended unless rejected by every other school I applied to.

4/11/07 -- Withdrew from Columbia. HLS bound! :)

3/30/07 -- The inevitable Yale rejection finally arrives.

3/6/07 -- Eh, didn't withdraw; decided to just wait and see. Also very much awaiting my Yale rejection...

2/15/07 -- Not withdrawing from Columbia. I love them too much. Still probably withdrawing from Chicago but I have just been too lazy to do that as of now.

2/5/07 -- What a great day for admissions - put on hold at both Chicago and Columbia. YEAH. Definitely withdrawing from Chicago ASAP and 90% certain I will withdraw from Columbia as well.

1/18/07 -- Accepted to Northwestern via e-mail.

Hi - it's MoLaw from the lawstudentparadise forums. Again, congrats on your awesome stats. Why aren't you applying to Stanford of UofMich?

Thank you! Well, to be honest I want to stay on the East coast (aside from the slight possibility of Cbicago). I am not interested in going to Cali, so Stanford is out. Never really considered UofMich... ? I don't know!

I used Kaplan books but I wouldn't recommend those to anyone. I'd never heard of the Powerscore Bibles but apparently most test takers swear by those. I started off high w/o ever seeing the LSAT (164) so... I just prepped for about a month, probably a total of 50 hours, maybe a little bit more.

Re: why not BC?

Well, there are a number of possible reasons -- first, rankings. BU is #22 and BC is #27. Second, I've heard BC is a bit conservative and I'm really not looking to go somewhere like that. I think I have a pretty good chance at BU so why bother with BC, especially since I do not think they provided me a fee waiver.

Aside from what I already told you, I don't know. The conservative factor kind of weighs in big with me, though. In researching certain aspects of school life, I found more that I liked at BU (and Harvard, and even Northeastern) than at BC. It's just a personal decision.

Thanks stradgirl, I'd probably do anything for that to happen.. but I am doubting it. Good luck on the Dec LSAT!! :)

You know, I honestly had no idea that BC was so conservative either. I only just found that out -- and it now makes much more sense how Elisabeth Hasselbeck (Survivor, The View) is an uber-conservative having gone to BC.

I agree that it's rather button-down there, but I wouldn't call it conservative as in right-wing evangelical Republican conservative, necessarily. John Kerry also went there. And it places better around Boston, fwiw. If it were solely about where to spend three years though, I would almost certainly prefer the more diverse/less "culture of privilege" oriented BU.

Re: Holy Crap.

I try not to think about Yale, or to think I will be rejected so that at least it won't be a surprise when it comes! Well, I don't know about a panic attack but if so, it's one I won't mind having...

cjs- Yeah, I can honestly say I know very very little about BC and BU aside from the things mentioned so far. I know nothing about job placement, etc. But as far as spending three years somewhere, I'm with you. Although I know I won't be at either of those places, FWIW. Should I withdraw my app from BU?

great job
