Additional info & updates

Stats now updated. Had some medical problems in college that helped attribute to the low gpa, but nothing can nor should make up for that poor of a performance. There was an upward grade trend (albeit slight) where over my last 90 units I had a 3.2 gpa.

My LSAT is the higher of 2 LSAT scores. The first one was a lot lower, and I do not think that adcomms paid much attention to it. I also had an LSAT addendum that I believe warranted the oversight of the first LSAT score.

Worked extremely hard on my personal statement. It took about 3 months to complete and multiple iterations, same with my diversity statement.

LORs came from an UG prof, grad school prof, and an employer.

11/30 Received an email inviting me to interview with a Georgetown alumnus.

1/14 Held at UPenn

5/2 Rejected at UPenn -- My cycle is finally over, barring waitlist movement at either NYU or Duke

I'm not applying ED anywhere. I don't have an extreme preference for any one school, and would like to leave my options open. I'm just excited to be applying to law school, and starting the next phase of my life. Good luck to you as well if you're applying this cycle.

Similar stats..and state..and race..and sex..and probably age lol What schools are on top of your list? You obviously went to Duke; don't want to ED?

Oh I see. Guess it's UNC for grad school, very nice. Pertaining to your question, I'm just not a big fan of Atlanta or most big cities for that matter; too much hustle and bustle for me. I would prefer to be at Duke, UVA or Cornell. Small cities with big-time law programs. I too hope this cycle turns out well for us. Good luck to you.

just outta curiosity

did you request some of the fee waivers you received? i ask because we have essentially the same numbers and I didn't receive half of those. want to know if there's a door i should be knockin' down somewhere...

Thanks

"...have only heard from 6, and I applied at the beginning of November." - That sucks and is definitely discouraging for me since every school has been telling me that my file will be reviewed IN THE ORDER IN WHICH IT WAS RECEIVED! Looks like I'm faaar back in the queue but your number is coming up. I'm just trying not to think about it..

Congrats!

Out on a limb?

Do you mean that your personal statement was one that was different from the typical prose? Was it more expressive in nature?

Congrats on that GW scholarship!!
