Additional info & updates

I go to Hampshire College, an alternative school. I have no GPA, just narrative evaluations. I wonder how law school applications will go...

Otherwise... I got accepted to Barry in January. When I started to look at schools, I actually looked there first because I wanted to live in Orlando. Def not the best school, but I think I'd be happy there. I am visiting for the Accepted Students Day on 3/23 and I will look for apartments, so that plus scholarship $$$ makes the place more enticing.

I fear I will receive all waitlists. And I also fear I will get a lot of letters while on spring break. I am considering a trek to check my mail midway through...

Waitlisted at Stetson.. that was tough. Def. a top choice, but I sent a letter and am hoping for the best!

3/9/07 - Got accepted into St Thomas over the phone...

3/12/07 - Official acceptance letter in the mail from St Thomas.

3/28/07 - Accepted into Florida A&M. Received over spring break, big envelope.

3/29/07 - I e-mailed St Thomas with a financial aid question and they wrote back saying they don't normally give merit scholarships to people without GPAs, but that she is sending me a new acceptance letter with $7500! I am not sure if this is one time only or per year, but if per year, makes their offer a bit more tempting (on campus housing)...

Over spring break - Went to Barry's ASD. Like the school. Small, in an area I'd call sketchy, but I am from very suburban New England. People were nice, made me excited for Law School. Drove through St Thomas, though the campus looked nice.

4/9/07 - Big envelope from Nova, accepted. No money now, though I am surprised. I know i don't have a GPA, but barry had no problem giving me some and they are higher ranked (not by much, but by some). I will email and call about this. it worked with st thomas.

I am probably sending in my deposit to Barry. I love Orlando. I am waiting to hear from 2 more places and will keep my waitlist options open.

I went to UMASS Boston and I have no GPA also. This seems to have little to no effect on my applications. I think the schools are looking at my whole package. Best of luck!!

Hey congrats on Barry. So it looks like your also moving to Orlando. I am accepting my offer at Florida A&M so I am trying to relocate from New Orleans, but I'm not too familiar with the Orlando area. What have you found out. Is it pretty expensive?? Pass on any good info if possible. Hope to hear from you soon.

Are you still considering Barry? Let me know if you have any questions about Orlando.
