yeah, pistol marksmanship too! Awesome, I'll have to pick your brain on schools. I have lots of pictures from our recent trip. We visited UofA, ASU, Gonzaga, Seattle, and UW.
I got in at UofA. Hubby is NOT happy. He hates Tucson. Hmm... maybe we'll be in AZ together next year.
How did you find out about the money? Was it with your initial offer? I'm just wondering if I have anything to look forward to.
Congrats on Seattle! Did you get the financial aid right in your decision letter? Is that where you're thinking about going? I was in Juneau for four months last year, believe me if the state of AK had a law school, I would be there in a heartbeat!
It's seriously not that bad. The weather in Tucson is sooo good 9 months out of the year. The other months it's hot but that's what ACs are for.
Bloomington? They extended my deadline to May 1st, so I have about 2 weeks to visit before I decide.
Withdrew from Illinois and Indiana w/ money in favor of Idaho? Very interesting. What's your top choice right now?
Honestly, the LSAT helped, I'm sure, but it wasn't the only thing that got me into schools. I've done a lot of graduate work to help "redeem" my undergraduate GPA, I applied to schools that had specific specialties in programs I had an interest and background in, my personal statement was concise and (i think) compelling, and I'm a geographic minority in the only state without a law school of its own. All those factors made a big difference, I'm sure, not just the LSAT -- I got into UI with a 163. I'm going there because I think it's the best fit for me in terms of location, course offerings, and opportunities after graduation (in a niche market that I find very desirable). Best of luck on the WL, though, some folks have been admitted off of it in the past few days!
Congrats on the decision! Stay in touch.
Alaska is getting a law school opening Fall 2008, see you could have waited.
Yup, I'm the other UAF person on here. Apparently only 100 Alaskans take the LSAT annually. Maybe that makes us underrepresented minorities. The Seattle U thing I can explain as I just got back from a trip to visit there. The lady who does all of the files is out on emergency sick leave. Her stuff has been piling up since like 2/20/07. You can check your status on their website, but I don't think that they'll be getting decisions out for awhile.
