Cpacebo bolshoi! (hmm, no Russian font installed on work computer)
Yeah it was really strange considering I got my rejection from American about 2 in a half weeks after I applied. I didn't even know they can process the information that quickly
Congrats on gonzaga!! I got my acceptance letter this afternoon and the admitted students email this evening. The first acceptance is definitely a nice feeling :)
Gongrats to you as well. Good luck with the rest!
Maybe I'll see you there. I drove over from Seattle a few weeks ago to check out the campus and I'm definitely going to go check out the open house.
Congrats to you too on Gonzaga! I'm sure you'll be getting a nice scholarship soon!
Congratulations on getting in to Gonzaga. The first one makes life so much easier! Wish you luck with your remaining decisions.
Thanks. Congrats to you too. I think I am actually withdrawing though, haha. Good luck with the rest of your apps.
Sorry to hear about UW :( But atleast you have Gonzaga! Not that they're really comparable schools lol. Are you thinking of waiting till next year or possibly transfering?
Yes, I'm thinking about trying again next year. Retaking the LSAT and ponying up the App. money again. If I got into Gonzaga this year, I'll get in next year.
Congrats on the 'zag scholarship, that's awesome. I actually just visited DePaul this past weekend. I've been talking to a DePaul alum about schools in Chicago, too. He's of course biased, but I do know DePaul doesn't do bad in terms of placement. Chicago's not a cheap place to live, and DePaul's tuition is not exactly cheap either. Let me know if you have specific questions about the facility, etc. Good luck!
I got dinged at UW too, also did the post-ding Seattle app, also considering waiting things out and applying again next year, if so I'll probably move out to Seattle to try to alleviate their 70% in-state bias...
No, I foolishly forgot my camera the day I visited DePaul. The building itself was all right. A bit older, pretty compact. I'd probably give it a C+ relative to the other places I went. The library was also just all right. Chicago's a neat place, though. Definitely visit if you get the chance.
that was my email on DePaul - hope it is useful. I'm absolutely in love with U of O at the moment - I might prefer a campus feel to the competitive / business / commuter flavor I might be destined for if I stick around in Chicago...

I think you're the only other UAFer on here. I still haven't heard from AZ State or Seattle either, even though my apps were complete there on January 5. I e-mailed Seattle yesterday all like "your website says 6-8 weeks for a decision and it's been 11, what gives?" They sent me a real short e-mail saying "Your application is pending, you should hear soon." Nice. Anyhow, Best of luck!

Thanks for the info re: Seattle, that makes sense and I was getting kind of paranoid. Your blog is fantastic! I'm considering U of Arizona, but was kinda leery of moving to southern Arizona in late July sight unseen (never been to AZ before). Nice to have someone on the ground, with a Fairbanks viewpoint to boot.
I'm a facebook nerd as well and searched your SN on UAF's... do you happen to be in the advanced pistol marksmanship class? If so, I'm the long-haired blazer dude and it's a really small world.
Regarding the scholarship, it was included in my admissions offer. But all is not lost, it's actually pretty damn cheap for out-of-staters, and residency is a definite possibility, as is a merit scholarship if you do well. Also, you still qualify for a PFD if you maintain AK residency as a student (which is kosher since because AK has no law school, you're "forced" to go out of state).
Hey, I just found out about my acceptance today over the phone. I guess they reviewed some applications today and really liked mine. But, we have similar numbers so you should be able to get in. I don't know how serious I am to attending the school. It looks like a great program, but they dont have any known merits that I know of in Trial Advocacy. I want to practice Criminal Law, so I dont really know if Mason will be a good match for me. I'll see how rest of my applications turn out before I decide anything. Anyways, good luck on rest of your applications.
Congrats, looks like you have a great option with that... I'm off the suicide watch btw, thanks for the consolation -- I probably can't justify leaving Chicago anways...
LOL! It would be pretty funny if you could do that. About Temple, did they offer you any money? I would like to go to Temple, but I dunno if I would be willing to pay full tuition to go there...Oh well we will see. Hope GM gets back to you soon.
How soon after getting the email did you receive the materials in the mail.?This happened to me on Saturday so I'm hopeful that I can expect an acceptance but I don't want to get my hopes up either.
Hey, Well the first time I took the test, I did fairly well on all the sections besides Reading Comprehension, and got like 50% on that section, all others were like ~80% or so, I sat down and reviewed some reading passages and did some more practice tests and was able to bring my score up 10+ points.
Hey sorry it took me so long to respond but yes, I got my scholarship with the acceptance. I talked to someone at financial aid they give scholarship by LSAT levels so I'm surprised you haven't heard about one yet (you scored higher than me). I'm almost positive that I'm going to DePaul next year. I really didn't consider leaving Chicago... I was forced to apply to out of state schools by professors.
Wow Alaska! congrats on Depaul, I want to head there...crossing my fingers for it. Good luck with the others.
hey, I was just checking your profile, and just realized that you are from Alaska. This has nothing to do with law, but I was wondering how's is it like living in Alaska? Is it dark like half of the year, or is that just Norway and such places?? lol..wow so cool to see Alaskan on here...man I need a life and stop being on LSN so much...lata
So far I'm really impressed with GMU. All the contact with the staff have been quick and helpful. I'm going to there Open House this weekend and I'll let you know how it went if you want! Congrats on the acceptances too!
I have withdrawn by not paying money down on two places, hopes that helps. As for the rest, I might still go there depending on how my last few apps pan out. As soon as I make a decision I'll do the right thing, don't worry.
And good luck to you too on the June LSAT also.
Sorry it took me so long to write a reply! I liked the school. It's a new building and equipped with everything u could need. The faculty it seems is easy to get in contact with. The admissions people were very nice and excited about the event. Career Services really impressed me. They seem to be very much the go-getters and want students to do well and use their services. I would recommend checking it out if you can, but I'm happy about going there.
I know it's late in the game, but I couldn't take my LSATs until Dec. Now I'm playing catch-up with my applications. I hope the rolling admissions won't kill my chances.
