Additional info & updates

Didn't know I was applying till Nov 2005.

UVa: phone call 2/2, acceptance letter a few days later. Letter 3/16, Dean's Scholar, $66k over 3 years.
Harvard: phone call 2/14, acceptance letter 2/17.
Duke: acceptance letter for JD/LLM program 2/18. Email 3/7, Dean's Scholar, about $64k over 3 years.
UCLA: email 3/3, letter a few days later.
Michigan: acceptance letter 3/24, really excited.

Visited Harvard 3/10 - 3/12. Some great people, some other not so great people. Nice campus. Explored Cambridge a little on my own, seems like a nice place. Reality of attending law school starting to set in.
Visited UVA and Duke 3/24 - 3/25. Turned off by UVA. Way too fratty. Only caught 3 hours of Duke but really impressed by the current students I heard and talked to.
Visited Michigan 3/30-4/1. Really enjoyed my visit.
Withdrew from Duke and UCLA 3/28.
Withdrew from UVA and Michigan 4/21.
Waitlisted at Stanford 4/21, withdrew same day.
Bizarre email from Georgetown 4/28 saying I was not complete till after 3/20 and thus could not be considered until after May 1, wanting to know if I was interested in hearing in the next week. I withdrew in my response.
Sent Harvard deposit 4/12.

I can name all 535 members of Congress, all 50 governors, and tell you which party is in control of all 99 state legislatures. If you tell me your state and the general area where you live, I can guess your congressman in three tries or less. (This has been tested.)

awwww... dude, at least it was from Harvard. My only valentine was a mistaken email from AU. I need a girl... or an Ivy.

someone would comment. Unfortunately for the Dems (and for me) it looks like it will be HRC. I might help Warner if he lasts through IA and NH. On the Republican side, if I had to guess...wow. It's so hard 2 years out, but it'll probably come down to a Rudy Giuliani versus a George Allen. And if it's Hillary against either of those guys, I may exercise my patriotic right to vote for Mickey Mouse.

Cool..I thought I was the only one who could name all 535 Members of Congress, 50 governors, state legislature control etc..I used to be able to recite their winning margins in the last 3 elections but somehow my brain got fried!! Well done on your schools

Cool

indeed she did, quietly and with as little insult to ashcroft's ridiculous rabid fundiness as possible. quite a legacy for someone who only got to be attorney general cause he lost his senate race to a dead guy. yeah, i'm going to wait for the last four. i am not even really leaning toward anywhere yet.

wow

(This has been tested.)" how much time did this take? i think quirky stuff like this is cool. i bet i could not recite all the us states and you have commited to memory all the governors. awesome. i once memorized the stats for the national league east when i was a kid. the weird thing is it took no time at all. i guess if your interested in something, retention is just natural. ok, pa, philly

are cursed. how dare they move cal to third. is there any doubt that brady anderson was on steroids? i remember how amazing it was for cecil fielder to hit 50+. a few years later, everybody was hitting 50.

Love your moniker

why do people dislike the guy so much? So he's quasi-fundamentalist, but about 35 percent of the country is? Him violating civil liberties is also a bit exagerated- hell JFK started wiring political opponents in the media.

gotcha

No word on money yet. It seems like my acceptance was kind of an afterthought for them. Nobody else on LSN was accepted the same time I was, and their admitted weekends are both over.

Well "central Texas" is pretty broad, it could be anybody from Chet Edwards to Michael McCaul to Mike Conaway to Lamar Smith...I need at least a little more detail.
