I sent my app out 11/29-12/1. It took them a couple weeks (maybe more) to request my LSDAS report. The first I heard from them was around 1/12 when I got my acceptance packet in the mail dated 1/6.

I was asking people that were accepted the exact same thing, if you want to read my page and see a few responses. From what I gather, it has great reputation here in Florida but it is very pricey and it's only a T3. My main decision, right now anyway, is choosing Stetson for 28k/yr or St Thomas with their scholarship deal. Stetson consistently ranks #1 in the state with their trial teams and you can definitely get an outstanding starting job, provided you graduate in the top 10%. But, then again, if you have that good of grades, you should really transfer to a T1. Also, Stetson is the only law school on the west coast of FL and had Tampa and St Pete all to itself. Orlando also employs lots of Stetson grads. But those bastards from UF and FSU are everywhere.

The office just told me I was put on hold at Miami too. What exactly does that mean and what can we do about it? Do you have any idea what chances there are? We have similar scores.

I'm still on hold there. Sorry to hear that the campus wasn't that impressive. What exactly did they tell you about your (our) chances when you talked to them? Do you think visiting helps? What else did you notice about the campus?

Had a friend who went to Suffolk; great school. My friend, like you, was from Boston as well. Suffolk definitely prepares students for the real world. Nice acceptance on Suffolk. Best of luck to you.

I see we both got waitlisted at the U!!! I guess it's better than being deferred right? What do you make of this? Do you think we have a shot? I think I will definitely visit the school now as they are my top choice.

Arkansas was ranked #91 in last years US News Rankings and should jump back even higher with the opening of their new facility. I read your comment about PSU and HU being in the top 100 --- Don't let that sway you in the least... Rankings change year to year and who knows where they will be in three. Just my piece of mind. for the info... I am currently withdrawing from FCSL, Maine, Drexel and Arkansas-LR. I will be going to the Penn State weekend this coming weekend as well as the Suffolk admitted students open house this Wednesday. I am also still waiting for 21 schools so this week I will narrow it down even more. Rest assured, I will withdraw as soon as I am 100% sure I will not be attending. -BHerb

I sent Stetson my app last week and just called them to check my status. They said that a decision was sent out yesterday. Maybe you will hear from them this week also.

Hey, when you emailed Ole Miss- how long did it take for them to back to you? Sorry to hear about the waitlist -- I think I'm going to be getting the same thing or worse..

I called over to Ole Miss and spoke to Ms. Vinson. She was real nice, she just told me that I had been placed on the waitlist and that they had not given any ranking or priority yet but I would hear back at some point. I'm going to turn in a deposit at either Samford, Memphis, or Loyola, and then wait out Ole Miss. What are you thinking?

Which one are you leaning towards??

Right now it looks like Memphis is the frontrunner mainly due to the fact that I get in-state tuition making it about 20K cheaper than Samford or Loyola. I am attending an admitted students open house this Sat. so if all goes well I will probably put a deposit down. I am going to wait out the Ole Miss WL and see what happens but I don't expect to hear back until after May 1. Best of luck with your decision.

Also, just to give you my opinion on Ark vs. LSU. I was born in New Orleans and spent part of my life in Baton Rouge and I can tell you that LSU is an awesome place. I have some friends in Med School there now and they love it. I also went to high school in Little Rock and have a lot of friends that went to Ark for undergrad and have some friends there now in law school and they never seem to love being in Fayetteville so my recommendation is to go to LSU. Just food for thought, the decision is yours to make of course.

Congrats on LSU! It's a great school. I did my undergraduate and graduate work there. Baton Rouge is a fun place to be, especially on Saturday nights during football season!!! Next year, make sure you take a break from studying to hit The Chimes and Walk On's.
