Additional info & updates

4/22- Decision is made, heading to Morganotwn, WV for school. Loved the campus when I went down...and its entry into the top 100 sealed the deal. I wish everyone the best of luck in their future endeavors and will leave my profile up for future law school hopefuls.

3/20 - Went and visited NESL. Loved Boston, it was amazing. The school was also great. Had an amazing tour guide, and sat in on a criminal law class. Great experience, don't have much to compare the school to since it was my first visit, but I was pleased. Only negative was that the facilities seemed a little old and in need of a renovation. While I was touring the school I recieved an email from WVU Law saying that I was admitted. Pretty excited about that and I'll be visiting the school shortly. I'll keep this updated. Feel free to shoot questions this way. Hope everyone else is having a good cycle.

3/12- Haven't updated in a while, got locked out of my account for some reason. Here is what is new: Got waitlisted at CWSL and withdrew. Also waitlisted at Southwestern via status checker. Spoke with woman from WVU admissions, said that they would start deciding on the "pooled" applicants starting on 3/17. Hoping for some good news there. Will be making a trip to Boston this week to look at NESL- taking a tour and sitting in on a class. Guess its down to all of the waitlists now. Pretty anxious.

1/29- Waitlisted at Albany, as expected, via online status checker.

1/28- Admitted to New England Law the other day via mail. Attached the letter of acceptance was a personal, handwritten note, which I appreciated. I applied shortly after Christmas, so the decision was pretty quick. Rejected from Drexel via mail, so the number of schools that I am waiting to hear from has grown considerably smaller. I am kind of expecting waitlist at Albany. Got the letter from Franklin Pierce saying that I was waitlisted and that I wouldn't be notified of their decision until July. Pretty sure I'm just going to withdraw my application from there.

1/15- Not the best week on the law school front. Got rejected at Ole Miss (which hurt) and waitlisted at Franklin Pierce (which hurt even more). Starting to think that maybe I should take an LSAT class and then retake the LSAT. While this would delay my law school plans a year, it might be a better option. I'll see where the rest of the cycle goes, and keep this thing updated. Hope everyone's cycle is going well.

12/18- A few tidbits since the last update. My decision from Hofstra has been delayed until March. I am not sure if that qualifies as "waitlisted" or not...but that's where I stand at that school. Also I received an e-mail from WVU saying that my application has been "pooled." In the letter, it specifically said that this does not mean that I am on a wait list, rather that my application does not merit acceptance or denial at this time. Whatever. I'm at the point now where I'd rather get acceptances and denials so I'd have a clue where I stand. Patience is a virtue, I guess. I did, however, get into Widener which makes it good to know that I definitely will be going to law school next fall. My applications to Pierce and Albany are currently being reviewed. I wrote an email to Pace asking about the possibility for a deferment to the fall for a second time. I haven't heard back from them and guess I won't until after the New Year. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

12/03- I decided not to attend Pace in the Spring, it was a tough call but I don't think I would have been able to do it financially. Still waiting to hear from other schools. I checked my status at MSU and saw that I got waitlisted. While it wasn't the greatest news, I am glad that I wasn't flat-out rejected. I am eager to hear from Franklin Pierce and Albany, hopefully I get some letters within the next week. Still haven't applied to NYLS and don't know if I will. I was looking at Cleveland State however, and possibly getting one or two more applications out before Christmas.

11/19- I got a letter from Pace last week, saying that I got in. I have to let them know by tomorrow whether I will be attending or not. While it is tempting, as I am very impressed with Pace, I do not think i will be starting in Jan. My finances just aren't where they should be, plus I would like to hear from the other schools that I applied to. I will more than likely be reapplying to Pace ( or asking for a deferment). I do not expect to hear back from too many school in the next few weeks, but I keep my profile updated as much as possible. I also got into Cooley (with a 25% scholarship).

11/5- I went up to Pace today in White Plains, NY and had an interview with an admissions faculty member. It went really well, and the school looks great. Its in a nice area too. She said Spring decisions are going to start being made on or around 11/16.

10/28- Decided to be spontaneous and apply to California Western instead of Syracuse. The Syracuse application was just too much money to pay, plus tuition is expensive. Also, I wanted to have an option on the west coast. I received and email from Pace saying they received my application and encouraging me to apply for Jan if I hadn't done so. If I get in its going to be a tough decision, because by the time I get an answer from them for Spring, I won't have answers from all of my Fall schools. Hopefully putting out MSU and NYLS today or tomorrow. NYLS makes you write two personal statements that are different from the two that I already have written, so that's a little bit of a hassle and will take me a little longer. MSU is all set and ready to go.

10/26- Got an email from FL Coastal this morning saying that I could check the status of my app on their site, went and checked it and saw I was accepted. Not sure what that says about them but it wasn't a bad way to start the cycle. Slowly getting the rest of my applications out, not sure if I am even going to bother applying to Catholic. Might not even bother with Texas Tech either. Hope to get Syracuse and NYLS out this this week. RE: PACE how many of you out there are applying for Spring, and do you know if anyone has heard from them yet? I feel like I am really on the cusp with them, I hope I can get in and have a serious option if I want to start in Spring. If you have similar stats as me, or even see that we are applying to the same schools, don't hesitate to leave a comment, I'd like to hear from you.

10/24- I have a few of my apps sent out. The low LSAT is going to seriously limit my options. I've been jobless since graduating in May so was thinking about starting in Spring. I applied to FL Coastal and Pace for January start, the rest are for Fall 2010.

Hey. Did you figure out how Arkansas Fayetteville figures their index? I found some things that said if you were from out of state you had to have an index of at least 205 and when I figured mine it was 201....I figured I wouldn't even apply but I saw you did so I thought maybe I overlooked something.

Good Luck

I am not sure where I want to go. I think it will depend a lot on where I get in and how much money is offered. What about you?

Thanks!

Thank you for the comment and good luck to you as well! I will definitely be keeping in touch since we all need a ton of support during this time. Is it just me, or is this waiting horrible!

Good Luck on your applications. I am also applying to Drexel, Pitt, and Widener. I am retaking the LSAT in December. I am trying to figure out if I should send my apps out now or wait for the December score to come in.

hey man, great extras. it makes me feel better to know i am not the only one in the low 150 boat with other good factors (GPA, softs, letters, etc). what do you know about hofstra? i applied there ea too and it seems like a solid option for people in our number range...best of luck with everything

expensive!!!
Tuesday, October 27 2009 at 08:00 PM

i got free bees to hofstra and george mason, but i think everyone can apply to those places for free...don't know much about hofstra either except i have a decent shot to get in and i have heard some good things about it...as i say on my profile page, i'll take what i can get at this point man

pretty open
Tuesday, October 27 2009 at 08:00 PM

if you had asked me while i was taking my kaplan course and scoring higher on my pt's, i would have given you a list of 5-10...but with this score, i really am trying not to get attached anywhere because i know im going to get a lot of negativity in this cycle...i will be happy with any ranked school, and even happier if it is on the west or east coast...how about you?

Thanks

I'm applying for the fall. Good luck to you.

Thursday, June 19 2008 at 08:00 PM

Thanks man. I hope we get some good news too. Hopefully we hear back soon... I heard they'll start reviewing at the deadline (the 16th of Nov) and get them out as they are made. Let's hope for sooner and GOOD news!

hey, I told you earlier that MSU applicants who applied before Oct. 20th would hear by Nov. 20th but I just called them and they told me they would have a decision by then but would let us know until AFTER Dec. 1st! DANG! but at least that's not much later!

Congratulations on acceptance to Pace. I have an interview with them next week and I'm flying to New York from Toronto on Monday. Just wanted to know if you also did the interview and if you have any advice regarding the questions types. Hope fully we"ll be classmates next year. Cheers Ali

Pace
Friday, October 16 2009 at 08:00 PM

Gongrats on Pace. I applied a little after you but have good numbers to get in. How did you find out-- also I didn't do an interview... hopefully that won't hurt me. You applied for a January start? Does that mean that if you apply for the August term you won't hear back for a while. Sorry just anxious to get my first response back. Thanks man!

hofstra waitlist
Tuesday, October 27 2009 at 08:00 PM

hey man, did you get a true waitlist at hofstra or a "deferred until march"...i got a deferred until march (not sure what I should prefer lol), but some people got true waitlists/rejects/or accepts it looks like...just trying to get a feel for what they are up to

hofstra waitlist
Tuesday, October 27 2009 at 08:00 PM

yeah, someone told me they were waitlisted...they could have been mistaken and gotten the good ole deferral like you and i. i guess its a good thing because we were not rejected. plus, it seems like most people who were admitted had numbers year last years medians and we aren't at the median. so i guess this is a good thing, and we shall wait patiently until march. i would rather have a shot at admission (like we currently do), than knowing im on a waitlist with possibly no hope to get off of it

Hey my status checker says re-review in February at Michigan State...Does that mean waitlist?

waitlist
Wednesday, December 17 2008 at 07:00 PM

I know how you feel about rather getting a rejection than a waitlist! It sucks not knowing where you'll be! Also it sucks because I know I am going to end up putting seat deposits in a few schools but having to wait for other schools! UGH! oh well. Have a good holiday! Hopefully 2010 will bring us GOOOOOD NEWS!

Thanks!
