Additional info & updates

Feel free to leave comments! :)

Fordham: E-mail acceptance, followed by an official letter in the mail a few weeks later!
Edit: Have received a $15,000/year merit scholarship.

Georgetown: Comes in a regular sized, cream colored envelope with gold seal...has handwritten, personalized note from Dean Cornblatt on bottom
(and last week they also sent my family and me a holiday card)!
Edit: Invited to apply to be a Dean's Scholar, but didn't get it.

NYU: Purple NYU Law folder comes in mail, containing acceptance letter and a few miscellaneous papers that aren't too informative.
Edit: Awarded a Dean's scholarship, for $20,000/yr for the first 2 years and $10,000 for the third year!

Villanova: Letter comes in regular sized envelope, again with a few other papers concerning financial aid and such

BU: Acceptance call from someone in the Admissions Office...very nice woman!
Edit: Also, have been notified that I am a Dean's Scholar (awarded $40,000 scholarship each year)

Harvard: Got e-mail about phone interview from Toby Stock on 12/8 ; received interview phone call from him on 12/11 ; received another call from him on 12/18 welcoming me to the class!! (Still in shock about that one...was all definitely unexpected)!

Penn: Got a phone call acceptance from the Director of Financial Aid! He was extremely kind, affirming, and helpful, and went through what the next steps will be/what to expect
Edit: After being nominated for it and writing an essay, I've been awarded the James Wilson Scholarship ($20,000/yr)!

Seton Hall: Letter in the mail, also stating that they have chosen me to be a Full Tuition Scholar

UVA: Phone call from Dean of Admissions Jason Trujillo, who was very conversational. Notified me that I am a Dean's Scholar and will be receiving a scholarship, to be determined in March.
Edit: Received a $23,000/yr. Dean's scholarship!

Columbia: Regular business-size envelope, saying that I have been put in the "Hold" category and will hear a decision by April 30.
Edit: Have been put on Columbia's "Reserve" list. Oh well.

Amazing numbers! Congrats on all your early acceptances! Of those four, what is your top pick? NYU?

temple/villanova

I spent the first 18 years of my life in Philly. After a BA/MA out west, I am very eager to return. I was happy to hear from Rutgers (I expected my disastrous LSAT to result in a flood of rejection letters), but nothing would make me happier than a letter from Temple or Villanova. I'm sure you will do well wherever you go!

As excited as I am about it, I'm not 100% sure yet actually... I think there's a very good chance that I will go there, but I'm still waiting to hear from Columbia especially... if it comes down to those two it might be a much bigger decision, considering that Columbia is a lot closer to my home, family, and serious boyfriend...guess I'll just have to wait and see!

harvard!!!

Yes, I am VERY excited about Temple. I want to keep an open mind, but my decision is pretty much finalized. Congrats on Harvard! I think you'll have a tough decision to make, because I am sure Columbia will want you too!

Just curious... what sort of stuff does TStock ask?

i didn't think i would have gotten into any of my top choices, so I wasn't prepared to choose between them. This aspect is beginning to seem more stressful than all the waiting. Having gotten into such great schools, I'd imagine you are in a similar position.

Right now I am trying to decide between Temple and Maryland. I am leaning toward Temple...it is where I grew up and they have an excellent Trial Advocacy program. If I get into Villanova or American (which is doubtful), the decision will grow much more difficult. Let me know how your visits go!

Hey, congrats on all the scholarships! Are you leaning toward any school yet?

I really liked both Penn and Philly. And I like both Columbia and NYC, haha. (Although, I won't lie, I'm a bit scared of NYC!) Honestly, I'm pretty much 50/50 right now, so it's probably going to come down to my mood the day I send in my deposit.:-/ What are you thinking between HLS and NYU? I can empathize a bit with you in terms of picking the more prestigious school versus where your family is going to be. (Although, let's face it, it's hard to turn down Harvard!) Let me know what you decide!
