Additional info & updates

I am aware that my numbers are "atypical" YLS material. Even if my profile is fake (it's not) here is a link showing that someone with my numbers COULD gain admission:

http://officialguide.lsac.org/SearchResults/SchoolPage_PDFs/LSAC_LawSchoolDescription/LSAC3987.pdf

I was invited to apply by YLS Admissions via a letter in early January. Without that letter AND the LSAC data linked above, I would not have taken a chance and gained admission to such an incredible school which I've already fallen in love with. That is why I created this LSN. I have no desire to create false hope -- most people with my numbers and with better numbers (even urm) will not be admitted. But to the few who have extraordinary backgrounds I hope they'll take a chance. I'm sure they'd never regret it.

well you have a great gpa. i wish i had that. but i sucked freshman year so my gpa is recovering...its risen almost half a point in the last year. i took 3 classes with a really well respected prof who used to teach at Harvard and did really well in his classes and he likes me so i think he'd make a good argument that i'm smart enough to go. but yeah its just a numbers game. i really need a 172. a 166 is nothing to scoff at at all. i mean getting into Yale and Stanford is ridiculous. thats so great. i really wish you all the best.

Actually...

Umm... look at the data. According to YLS's own data released to LSAC, it admits 7% of applicants with an LSAT from 165 - 169 with GPAs between 3.5 and 4.0. The data is there. My story is real. I'm sorry you don't believe it but I would never create such a fake profile. Here's a link to the data: http://officialguide.lsac.org/SearchResults/SchoolPage_PDFs/LSAC_LawSchoolDescription/LSAC3987.pdf -CiaoBella

Hey!!! I am an african american male going to my third year at cal and I was wondering if you could give me your thoughts on why you think you were able to get accepted into yale??? Do you think it was the addendum or anything else?? I also wanted to know what you wish you would have known as a junior that you know now?? I am planning to be a 5th year so any info will help drastically!!!

invited to apply?

I don't know if you'll come back to check your comments, but I just have to know: what do you mean you were invited to apply? How did that happen? Did you meet them first at an admissions fair, or are you a legacy, or an olympian, or what? I'm completely intrigued so please, please respond.

CONGRATS firs tof all. I also just received that package from YLS asking me to apply, and I feel like I shouldn't bother! Im a URM too, but it requires a 250 word essay that I apparently need to WOW the committee with, and I only have a week to do it. ITs so late in the cycle too-- kind of pointless, no?
