Scholarship $$$ shown is per year.

St. John's Class of 2012!!!

4/6/09 - Waitlisted at Cardozo via snail mail. Offered consideration for their May start program which I will have to look into. Either way, I doubt Cardozo at full price is worth it over St. John's.

3/28/09 - Went to the ASD at St. John's. The school gave me a really good feeling, much better than Hofstra. I think I'm going to pass up the extra money (with stricter standards) and go to St. John's.

3/27/09 - Email from St. John's today offering a nice scholarship. Pretty happy with that, however it is still lower than Hofstra. I'm pretty sure my visit had something to do with them offering me money to match Hofstra.

3/24/09 - Visited St. John's today and really liked the school. I sat in on a Criminal Law class which was really interesting. One of the students I spoke with said that it wasn't really reflective of classes at St. John's, as the professor was one of the best. If they can match the money I got from Hofstra I will definitely go there, provided I don't get accepted to Brooklyn or Cardozo. If not, it looks like I will be at Hofstra next year.

3/21/09 - Rejected at Fordham PT via status checker.
.
3/6/09 - Staying on the waitlist at brooklyn and I told them to consider me for the PT program.

3/4/09 - Small envelope from GW. Can't say I'm surprised, but still disappointed.

2/22/09 - Waitlisted at Brooklyn via snail mail. Offered the opportunity to be considered for their PT program.

2/20/09 - Complete at Cardozo via email. Wonder what took so long?

2/17/09 - Big day today! Two acceptances, Hofstra and St. John's. Hofstra came with the usual handwritten note, as well as a very nice scholarship as long as my GPA stays above 3.25. Overall, I'm thrilled to get into two T100 schools.

2/12/09 - Submitted my FAFSA today. Brooklyn finally received my Dean's Cert. so my file is now complete. Also, status checker for Hofstra is blank where it used to say "File is with admissions committee". After checking out LSN this usually means a decision is on the way. Hopefully a good one!

2/3/09 - Complete at Hofstra via status checker. In other news, large envelope from GW today, unfortunately it was just information on the school.

1/23/09 - Complete at Fordham via Email with status checker. Brooklyn status checker says they're waiting for a Dean's Certification. Decided to apply to Hofstra as an extra safety.

1/15/09 - Complete at St. John's via email saying they received my application and I will be notified when they reach their decision.

1/14/09 - Final recommendation was processed today. Most of my apps are in. I hoped to get them out earlier but it didn't work out. Hopefully applying this late won't hurt my chances too much.

1/05/09 - Email fee waivers from a few schools I wasn't intending on applying to came in this week. I figure if its free its worth a shot.

12/29/08 - 165 on the December 08 LSAT. My October score was 157. Really happy with my improvement. My applications are being sent out this week.

I went to community college part time from 1999-2003. Transfered to a four year school after receiving my Associates Degree. I started at LIU in the Spring of '04. After two semesters I decided to take some time off. In the Fall of 2007 I went back for my last two semesters and graduated in May of '08. During my last two semesters my GPA was ~3.4. Hopefully with a GPA Addendum schools will look at my GPA from when I came back as a reflection of the type of student I am today.

Good luck to you the rest of the cycle. I'm curious about what schools you applied to and what your results were. You should make a profile.

Thanks

Leaning towards NYLS, but def. still waiting to get a final answer from Cardozo, Bklyn & St. John's. How did you like the St. John's campus? I'm visiting this weekend - I've heard great things. Fingers crossed!
