Congrats on Southwestern. Any reason why you think you got the acceptance so soon?

Did you receive a complete notice from Pepperdine? How long after you sent your app did you get it?

San Diego

I've never actually seen San Diego or Loyola. But Pepperdine had a great feel. I really wanted to apply there. I was working on my essay when i got all these acceptences and decided against it. One thing to think about...Pepperdine is maybe the 5th best law school in that area, and loyola 4th or something. San Diego is the first best school in that area.

Any chance that you are going to take the San Diego PT?

Chapman
Sunday, January 29 2006 at 07:00 PM

Yes, my scholarship is renewable each year as long as I stay in the top third of the class. So, there is no set GPA I have to maintain. I just have to beat out the 2/3 of the other students. However, I don't think I'll be going to Chapman. I think I'll be going to Pepperdine. My only reserve is the cost. I see you have a lot of options! Any thoughts so far? FYI- I grew up in SB County. I miss the beach!!! Trust me, don't leave CA. I moved to Virginia for college and regret it. No where in the world is as cool as southern CA.

About the ungodly amount of $ Pepperdine costs, I called the financial aid office and they said that the average debt upon graduation is 140k. My logic tells me that if most graduates can make it with that much debt then so can we. Keep me posted on your decisions. Who knows, maybe I'll see youn in Malibu!

Go to Chapman. If I do decide to go to LS this fall, it'll be at Chapman. I like the campus, I like the school, I like the area......and I like the money! Don't know if it is renewable, but I would assume that it is. Dunno though. Congrats on all your acceptances!

WARNING!
Sunday, January 29 2006 at 07:00 PM

I just got back from Chapman's Legal Scholar Weekend and learned some alarming news about their scholarship. Retaining a scholarship is really really hard. Much harder than getting an offer 1st year. Most schools make an offer and in order to retain it you must stay in the top 1/3 or keep a certain gpa. At Chapman it breaks down as follows: top 1-5% = 100% tuition top 6-10% = 90% tuition top 11-15% = 70% tuition top 16-20% = 60% tuition top 21-25% = 40% tuition top 26-30% = 20% tuition Moreover, I spoke with at least 30 or 40 people who were offered a full tuition 1st year scholarship. But, according to the Fin. Aid office, only 7 people can keep it. I'm sure it breaks down that way all throughout. Just thought I'd share that bit of info.

Horah for us and for Pepperdine! Seriously, it feels so good to know where I'll be next year (I'm sure you understand). Are you planning on living on campus? Anyway, feel free to email me and maybe I'll see you at orientation! Umm...wear a big sign that says "ellay from LSN.com" so I'll know who you are...I'll be making my wahoocmc sign this weekend :)

Change your mind?

Something change your mind about where you're heading? Also, nice job with the Chapman $.
