what did i learn this cycle? softs are sooooo overrated

i got into the schools i should have and rejected at the ones i should have.

UPDATE: We are trying to get a bar night together before orientation in Miami for those who are able to attend...With FIU being so new, we're going to have to REALLY depend on each other for networking even more than other schools...so we should all get together and start forming these lifelong bonds...if youre interested email me and I'll get with you with the details...anybody else who is attending FIU in the fall is more than welcome to contact me at flhealth@yahoo.com

UPDATE II: Ok the first meet up will be June 13th at 8PM at John Martin's Irish Pub in Coral Gables. FIU will be having an ASD the same day so there should be plenty of people to meet. Even if you are not attending ASD, but you will be attending in the Fall, you are absolutely invited to attend and tell others who may be interested. Also, there are discussion threads set up on Facebook (FIU College of Law Class of 2012 admitted students) and top-law-schools.com (TLS) under class of 2012 forum to discuss upcoming events and updates.

01-30-09...In at Coastal via large envelope...10K per year

02-03-09...Applied to Miami, was pleasantly surprised to find a fee waiver.

03-06-09...I get the distinct honor to be the ONLY person on LSN to be rejected by UF so far...woohoo!

03-24-09...received letter from Miami stating that my application is being held pending further review

03-25-09...In at FIU via phone call...April 15 deadline...waiting to see if money is available

03-26-09...Stetson decision in mail via status checker....looks like its taking between 6 and 8 days for decisions to arrive via snail mail after status checker changes

03-31-09...In at Stetson via email confirmation...today got an email inviting to an online chat for admitted students, I emailed back asking if this meant i was accepted...they confirmed admission...also, withdrew from Florida Coastal

04-01-09...Rejected at George Mason via snail mail (small envelope)...fee waiver, expected, and no big whoop

04-03-09...Short hold at Miami...in via stat checker

04-07-09...Rejected at UConn via snail mail (small envelope)...fee waiver, expected, unlikely to attend anyway

04-08-09...Withdrawing from Stetson

04-13-09...Request for deposit extension at FIU granted...new deadline is May 1st.

04-17-09...Dinged at Kentucky...meh....also withdrew at Miami...just waiting on FSU

05-12-09...Status changed at FSU from Application Complete to Under Review.

05-15-09...Status changed at FSU from Under Review to Decision Will Arrive by Mail....doesnt look good since FSU usually calls...oh well, we'll see.

05-18-09...The hammer falls, rejected at FSU...cycle is over...Attending FIU based on tuition cost...if I find out scholarship info I will post it here...Good luck everyone

Hi... I feel your pain, I was also rejected by UF...I am waiting on FSU also, and we have similar numbers... who needs Gator Nation anyway? Best of luck on your pending apps! :)

You are funny. as long as you have a legacy to be the first rejected from UF!!! I am waiting for FIU. Did they call you or you them? good luck on a scholly from them. your lsat and gpa rock so you may get one.

How did you guess that i REALLY want to go to law school? Ha ha. Thnks for the kind words too. I am a very non trad (can you guess) and it has been my dream and i am dooing it. It feels very surreal, i have to keep reminding myself that i was accepted somehwere. :-)

I am planning to attend FIU in the fall as well and think a networking/social night is an excellent idea for newcomers. Miami is a big and difficult place but I agree that bonding with other FIU students is paramount!
