(4/22/07) Just got done with the ASD at UCLA, and I'm sold. I'm sending in my seat deposit. GO BRUINS!

(4/12/07) WL from Duke while checking email in the Cornell Law Library. My cycle is OVER!!!!

(4/10/07) Email from Hastings wondering if I'm still interested. I say yes, and they let me in within a few minutes. Cool. Also got dean's scholarship. Cooler.

(4/05/07) IN AT UCLA BY EMAIL! AWESOME!

(3/27/07) Called Boalt to find that I'm rejected after being deffered.

(3/24/07) Out at Georgetown.

(3/21/07) Went to decision today at GULC. I'm not sure what this means - WL probably this late in the game?

(3/17/07) Out at Stanford - Like a tree can even be a mascot. HA!

(3/16/07) In at Loyola LA - probably will withdraw soon

(3/12/07) Out at Harvard. Go figure.

(3/06/07) Small letter with big surprise from USC: $15k a year scholarship. SWEEEEEEET

(3/05/07) Got my priority non-resident waitlist at UVA today in the mail

(3/03/07) "Passed initial review" from Boalt (means I'm not probably going to be accepted) and Waitlisted at Michigan. Big day.....blehhh

(2/15/07) In at Notre Dame along with a scholarship offer for $12K a year! Holy Catholic Law Schools Batman!

(2/7/07) In at USC via small white envelope - sweet! Maybe I'll be getting some money???? I really want to go to your school USC, but you're expensive!

(1/18/07) MY FIRST ACCEPTANCE TODAY! And it's even Ivy League!
Started as a busy day for my email inbox with Duke, Stanford, Harvard and Cornell messages when i got up this morning to check. The first 3 were what i expected - just saying that I was complete, but the last one was from Cornell telling me I got in! WOOHOO!!!

Great numbers. How long did you study for the LSAT and how? Any personal advice? Thanks.

Don't know what in my app could have caused the quick turnaround...maybe being in grad school helped? I was really surprised by the phone call.

USC

We are both in the Boalt deferral boat! I hear that the last one hit a massive iceberg and yeah....

USC $

well it was already near the top of the list, but the money put it on top. However, I am still going to visit vanderbilt for one of their ASWs as they are still in the running. as far as living at usc: i went to a uc also and can't really help. but, as im sure you know, it isnt the best area to live.

Not upset about the WL. My roommate is a 1L there now, and had an identical application to mine (same GPA, LSAT, work experience) and got waitlisted last year and admitted in June. Pretty much expected.

USC Scholarship

Congrats on USC. What was the turnaround time between submitting your scholarship app and getting the award. I like SC but I would need some $$ to attend. Thanks!

No, I didn't get the "passed initial review" email. I see that you did, and I think you have a good chance there. Good luck.

I called this afternoon because I wanted to get it over with. Good luck, you have incredible numbers and a lot of options open!

I've heard everyone recently has been notified by phone - so every time my phone rings now I go through the roof! I would say no news is good news at this point, especially since we know by the caliber of those already admitted compared with their usual stats that they aren't likely to get more than 1 in 15 of those admits. Good luck, I hope we're celebrating in a few weeks! Where are you thinking otherwise?

PS I went to ND undergrad and have friends in the law school there. It's an incredible place if you don't mind being in South Bend :)

Yeah, the money is enticing, but after the visit it's clear to me that it might not be that great of a deal in the end... if I wanted to stay in SD it would be perfect, I'm just not sure I do. As for USC, I am biased because my sister went there and I had to watch us lose to them for 6 straight years. But it's a great school and money is hard to turn down in that case (hence why I can't let go of GW). Keep me posted if you hear anything!

where you leaning towards at this point? congrats on ucla btw!

decisions
Saturday, July 29 2006 at 08:00 PM

I am kind of leaning towards USC right now, but also got Dean's Scholarship from Hastings so I am considering that too... Will most likely stay on most waitlists, maybe not Duke - I am not sure yet. I am really really hoping for Boalt, UCLA or Michigan to pull through.

Congrats! I think our conversation was a good omen :) So are you leaning towards UCLA? You have some great choices. If you I get in and you end up going, we'll have to look each other up!

my first thought was, "California Highway Patrol?" So no :P My fraternity was a major-specific one. UCLA's looking more and more like a top choice - how do you like it there?
