Fee Waivers at William and Mary, Alabama, and Indiana

1/9- Complete at William and Mary, via email

1/17- Complete at American, via email

1/19- Complete at Wayne State, via email

1/22- Complete at Michigan, via email informing me of umid# for access to status check

1/26- I am going to law school! Accepted at Michigan State College of Law. Acceptance letter sent in standard business size white envelope.

1/30- Complete at Alabama, via email informing me of cwid# for access to status check

2/1- Complete at Wisconsin (whoohoo!), via email

2/2- I have a choice! Accepted at Wayne State. Acceptance letter sent in standard business size cream envelope.

2/8- More choices! In at Indiana via email. I am very excited for my first acceptance to a ranked school!

2/8- Got a phone call from Tom Ksobiech from the University of Alabama around 5 pm, informing me of both my acceptance and a full ride scholarship. He said they will be sending me all the information through the mail in a few days. I am so honored and excited I can't begin to describe it.

2/10- Received package in the mail from Indiana, including $25,500 merit scholarship (large blue priority mail envelope)!

2/13- Received scholarship info from Michigan State in the same style envelope I received my acceptance in (white business size). Offer is for full tuition contingent on a 3.0 gpa. Also, sent email to Wayne State to withdraw. I wouldn't turn down any of the other schools I have been accepted to to go there, so I figured I should let someone else have my spot.

2/16- Complete at UNC via email.

2/17- Received gigantor sized package from Alabama, with scholarship details and binder of information about the law school and Tuscaloosa.

2/22- leaving for Italy for Spring Break today, hoping I come back to a huge pile of acceptances!

2/23(date on status checker, did not receive actual mail until return to US on 3/4)- Out at Michigan. Not very surprising, but it was worth a shot anyways. Rejection came in thin standard business size white envelope.

3/7- Received size large long-sleeved tshirt from Alabama. Is gigantic on me. Also, starting to get a little worried...I had 4 admissions in two weeks, and then all I have heard in the past month is the Michigan rejection. I need to make decisions by April 1, so I hope I hear from other places soon.

3/12- Today I received a letter from Michigan State informing me that if I matriculate, I will get a free laptop from them. Given the scary noises of death that mine has been making lately, this is tempting...also, getting increasingly frustrated with my lack of news. It is getting down to decision time...come on people.

3/15- Rejected at UNC. Letter came in standard business size white envelope. Disappointed, but at least now I know.

3/27- Upon return from Alabama, found a letter from American (which my roommate told me came today) deferring me, telling me to let them know if I am still "very interested". Not in a law school that makes me wait ten weeks only to defer me. Wrote email withdrawing and informing them of my disappointment with their admissions office. Letter was received in standard business size white envelope.

3/28- Waitlisted at William and Mary. Decision received in standard business size cream envelope, a little thicker than usual because of the multiple pages inside. Will send back enclosed waitlist form to withdraw tomorrow. Also, Indiana agreed to up my scholarship, awarding me the Dean's Scholarship to reduce my tuition to in-state levels.

4/1- Withdrawn at Michigan State by virtue of having neither asked for an extension on my deadline nor sent in a seat deposit (due today).

4/4- Today was a big day! Confirmed my withdraw at Michigan State via phone call, withdrew at Indiana via email. Sent in my seat deposit to the University of Alabama! Roll Tide!

4/14- FINALLY heard back from Wisconsin. Waitlist letter sent in thin standard business-size envelope. This was my pre-cycle number one, so I think I will stay on for curiosity's sake. Will send first semester grades and try to get the professor I do research with to write an additional rec letter.

4/15- Decided to stay on Wisconsin's waitlist, but not do anything to actively try to get off. It's the end of the semester, I have too much else to do, and since I have a great offer at a school I am excited to attend, it seems silly to lobby hard to get off the waitlist.

Congratulations on your acceptance to MSU. Did they tell you anything about a scholarship?

Hey, I knew I remembered you from wolverinesingles!! Heh, JUST KIDDING! :) Hey thanks for your kind words. I love the A2 area, but I think it's time for a change. Especially in light of recent developments. At any rate, 165 is a helluva score isn't it? No one quite knows with their particular LSAT and GPA combo, where it will take them. Could be a full ride at a T2,3, or 4, or could be partial $$ at a lower T1... or even a coveted T14 spot. We're just all of the map! Having said that, I'm wondering why you didn't apply to a wider base of schools in the lower T1? Seems like you peppered quite a few out to the T4's though.

Sorry...

about the confusion. More specifically, I guess I was wondering why the volume of your applications was relatively low? The more you throw out there the more likely they are to stick! :)

Awesome Guffman pick up! Congrats, to you, on a great cycle...Bama and IUB seem like excellent choices, where do you think you'll end up?

I was there. I came away with a pretty good impression. I also have a good friend who is there already. What did you think?
