Presidents list twice, Deans List once

Additional info & updates

7/13 Proud to announce I will be attending St. John's. I do not suspect that I will be taken off the BLS waitlist and I don't think I would go even if I was. SJU here I come!

5/17 So I guess Toby Stock doesn't like me. Rejected at Harvard.

5/3 Withdrew from CUNY and NYLS. Ouch, it really hurts :(

4/20 WL at Brooklyn via letter (6x10 envelope).

4/04 Dinged at Cardozo. #10 thin plain envelope.

3/28 Gave in my seat deposit to St. John's ($750) I will be withdrawing from Hofstra but I am still holding onto NYLS until I am sure about SJU.

3/15 Checked Fordham website and I have officially received my first denial. Sad but I'll get over it.

3/14 NYLS open house was great. The school is extrodinarily supportive.

3/2 Withdrew from Pace and Touro, very difficult thing to do. I hope the seat goes to somebody who really wants it.

2/28 Went to Touro open house, the new building is very large. I believe the school has a lot of promise , the dean is energetic and forward thinking

2.27 Went to St. John's open house, I really like it there. I think this is where I am going to end up.

2/15 After deciding not to withdraw from Hofstra I called them to discuss sending in more information (resume, CV...). They realized, after pulling my file, that they had used my first LSAT score when evaluating my application. They said that they will reconsider my application and get back to me today so I will once again change my status to pending.
-Got a call from Hofstra admissions-btw they are really nice to deal with- and I have been offered admission with a 20k renewable scholarship. Not too shabby.

2/12 Received acceptance package from SJU. Going to make a nice dinner tonight to celebrate.

2/6 Received an email from SJU inviting me to an admitted students open house. I called to verify and I am truly in. When I receive my letter I will post my scholarship info (if any).

2/5 Hofstra emailed me to inform me that I have been waitlisted. I am contemplating withdrawing my application.

2/2 I have changed my Hofstra status back to pending, apparently they have made a boo boo http://www.lawschooldiscussion.org/prelaw/index.php/topic,81671.0.html

2/2 I have changed the Hofstra Status to accepted because I got an email about their new website that congratulated me "once again" for my acceptance.

2/1 Touro has increased my scholarship amount (an additional $11,500/ year) to reflect my new LSAT score. I feel very positive about my choices already.

1/30 In at CUNY. 9x12" gray envelope. Happy happy joy joy. I have a lot of research ahead of me.
-My brother has generously paid for my application to Harvard. I know, I know ****please save the comments :P

1/25 Today is a good day in my world. I was greeted by a fantastic offer from NYLS, admitted with a $30k renewable scholarship. Plain, white, thick envelope. Admissions info came in the same envelope as the scholarship info.

1/11 Visited Hofstra yesterday. Took a tour; Dean discussed Hofstra's plans for the future; heard from some students. Overall great experience.
-Visited St. John's today. I think it was a good fit. Very practical and competitive school.
-Called NYLS, file is complete and probably another 2 weeks for a decision.

-Email from Pace and Hofstra I am complete.

1/9 Called Pace, my file is incomplete. They expect to receive my LSAC report sometime this week.
Called and I am complete at Fordham (I read somewhere that their status-checker is not always up-to-date).
According to Brooklyn status-checker I am complete

1/04 Sent out Fordham- I think this is my last app. My brother is willing to pay for a Harvard application (he's slightly biased in favor of my abilities) but I don't think I will take him up on the offer. I love my family, thanks anyway John :)

12/29 Sent Brooklyn out today

12/24 I am adding another reach school. Merry Holidays everybody and remember don't drink and drive.

12/22 I have my first acceptance letter!!!! I cant begin to explain the joy I feel. Regular size, white wove envelope. Scholarship info ($8,5000/yr) came same day, different envelope.

12/21 Got my LSAT score today, I am happy to report a 161.

11/29 Visited CUNY, observed a class, interviewed some students, took a tour, found out I was complete. They will start reviewing apps in Jan and they should be complete by early June.
-Called ST. Johns,NYLS, and Cardoza; I'm complete
-Cardoza said usually 6-8 weeks after the file is complete they will make a decision

11/22 Called Hofstra and Touro, I'm complete.
Touro doesn't make decisions until mid/late January.
Hofstra doesn't make decisions until mid-January/early-February

11/11 Sent out my NYLS application and just a few more weeks until LSAT take 2.

11/9 Applied to St. John's today. The application process is taking a lot out of me.

10/30 Somebody please tell me why there is so much LSN paranoia?

10/25 Sent out some apps today. I cant believe it is out of my hands. It took a long time to finish up the 35,645th version of my PS.

10/23 Checked on LSAC, got a Hofstra fee waiver. I also went to the law school forum in NY yesterday. I feel a little better about my score, but I think I will still retake the LSAT.

10/21 Disappointing LSAT, I will likely retake it.

10/11 As a precautionary measure I will be registering for the Dec. LSAT.

10/1 Took my first LSAT yesterday, I'll wait for my results before I apply. NO idea how I performed but I was averaging a 161 with a 155-164 range.

**************************************************************

GPA explanation:
My GPA fluctuated each semester with one particularly bad semester. The last 2 1/2 years of college I maintained a high average with a heavy credit load. I retook classes and my school replaced the grades but LSDAS combined them.

Scholarships are reported ( $/year )

Since all of my schools accept the higher LSAT I am reporting my HIGHEST LSAT in the average LSAT space

FEE WAIVERS:
Western New England College
Hofstra
George Mason
St Thomas
Pace
University of Akron
Golden Gate
Nova Southeastern
Liberty University

Pacific McGeorge

There were more, I will write them down when I remember them.

On the five point jump, should make a difference for Cardozo and Brooklyn and maybe enough for Fordham. Thanks for the nice message and good luck to you on the rest of your cycle.

Congrats on your acceptances as well. Yeah, I agree, waiting is by far the worst part. Best of luck with the rest of your apps!

Exact Number Twins
Sunday, November 12 2006 at 07:00 PM

Hey, I just saw your profile and realized we are exact number twins, including two multiple LSAT's with a 156 and 161, and a 2.9 gpa. Good luck with the rest of your cycle. I got into a school ranked #60, so don't settle on a tier 3 or 4 :)

You just got around to noticing that? For shame.

Brooklyn Waitlist
Tuesday, February 27 2007 at 07:00 PM

I got an email saying I was about to waitlisted and asking if I was interested in a part time program. You need to respond by email. Seeing as you got money from St. Johns, I think thats a better option than Brooklyn with no money. Good luck and feel free to ask me anything else.

St John's
Tuesday, February 27 2007 at 07:00 PM

Yeh you are definitely right is nice to have options. Most likely I will be going to St John's...unless by some fluke I actually get in somewhere in California.
