congrats on Vandy! We're pretty close in numbers, so I hope this is a good sign for me

Thanks

Thanks for the note. Great job on UT and Vandy. I struggle a bit because those two places would be, hands-down, my favorite locations out of anywhere I've applied. Then again, they don't have the allegedly important T14 label. But I am certainly going to strongly consider them (particularly Texas). Don't get too worried about Duke & UVA, at least regarding hearing or not hearing back from them. Duke has to focus on its Priority Track applicants, which have to have applied by Dec. 15. So after that you they can focus on the early apps they received in the "regular" pool. UVA hasn't really touched anyone yet. Which would you pick from amongst Michigan, Duke, UVA?

Duke Joint Degree

Forgot to mention the joint degree thing. Yes I will certainly consider it. I do have a strong desire to simply learn new things and that JD/MA would offer that opportunity. Then again, I also want to focus on my law studies as much as possible. So after all, I'm not really usre at all what on earth I would do.

I am tied to Nashville right now through my fiance so schools that are within a reasonable distance are my priority right now....thanks for the encouragement!

UVA

UVA hasn't done anything yet so don't worry about them. Also, Duke is slow with non-PT people so yu might yet be Ok. Which joint degree did you apply for?

Re: Re-Applying

Hey, Yes, you can re-use your recommendations. They don't go anywhere. I significantly re-vamped my PS. My essay last year had no direction; it was 2 pages without much substance. This year it was more focused and on a single, academic experience. It was more clear. I was also more thorough with my Resume. However, I think the most important changes to my applications were the LSAT (of course), one year of work experience (I didn't have significant WE in my first app), and a much earlier application. This time last year I was working on my PS and I sent the application early in the second week of January.
