3/9-My mom called me @ work to tell me Loyola sent "a big packet." I told her she could open it. Accepted to the full time Day division and selected as a Loyola Scholar with $52,500 total amt. over 3 years. Nice offer for my first acceptance!

*Funny aside: on monday morning before I left for work I was sitting in my car to warm it up and i looked up to the sky and said "Dear God, please help me get into law school this week. AMEN!"

4/4-Waitlisted @USD via email. Sent first seat deposit to Loyola the morning before i received San Diego's email. More than likely going to ask to be withdrawn from USD's waitlist, since Loyola was one of my top choices and scholly money is hard to turn down, even if San Diego were to decide to say yes :)

4/15- Dinged by my Alma Mater via email, not surprised. It hurt less because I went to Loyola's Preview Day the same day and felt like I had a good option either way.

4/28- For once I was not obsessed with checking my email today and when i decided to do so at lunch, I see an email from Cornell. Honestly I didn't even care to open it because I expected another half-hearted "each year we recieve more applications from qualified candidates...we regret to inform you...good luck in life...etc." BUT!!!! As I read it it says "you are still in the running and we have decided to place your name on reserve." So from what I comprehend, it isn't a "waitlist" per se, but it isn't a rejection! I am elated!!!

6/14- Both seat deposits are in at Loyola and i'm very excited to stay in LA, however as of yesterday Cornell has me under review again, so that's the only possible game-changer at this point....time will tell. Either way, I feel very blessed!

I got my mail about an hour ago and was freaking out at the sight of no big envelope. But then I realized there was no Loyola envelope at all! Looks like I'm in for another 24 hrs of freaking out! lol.

I will try to keep a positive attitude. lol. Hopefully this week will bring better news. If I can get waitlisted at the 21st school in the country I can get into at least a TT right? lol.

Writing an LOCI and visiting the school in my case is what really helped. I recommend trying to get a meeting with the dean of admissions if you can and telling him face to face why you want the school so badly. It worked for me and I even got some scholarship money. Showing that old school initiative really can go far. Good luck to you and thanks for the encouraging words!
