Additional info & updates

Well, it is the end of May and I think the end of a long, tumultuous cycle. I am very very excited about going to Loyola University Chicago. Part time will have to do as I plan on switching to full time after the first year (hopefully). Anyone headed to Loyola Chicago let me know or I hope to see you all in the fall. And thanks to everyone on this website...very cool people with very cool ideas about the future. Good luck to you all!

Fellow MSU acceptee here. Have you heard anything on potential scholarships yet?

Where you going?

We have similiar schools on our list, where would be your first choice out of the remaining schools?

choices

I think Marquette or Wisconsin would be my first choices (UW is a longshot). I am also looking closely at MSU and U-D Mercy.

NIU

Did NIU notify you by phone? If mailed, what did the envelope look like?

Good Luck and Congrats

Don't give up yet on Wisconsin, as an instate resident, you have a much better shot than most. It definitely helped me. Good luck on the rest of your apps, and congrats especially on Marquette. If you want to stay in Milwaukee, it is as good as any other school in the nation.

Thanks..

...for the post on my board. I would not feel bad about Marquette, it is a great school! You also have a bunch of aps still pending. I am surprised that NIU waitlisted you, but this late in the cycle they may have already hit the class size limit. I was wondering why you did not send an application to the University of Minnesota?

Hey did you apply to USD full time or part time?

Kent

Did you do anything besides send the form back to them to get accepted off of a deferral? I really want to go there, but I was just deferred... :(

Congrats on Kent
Saturday, March 11 2006 at 07:00 PM

Hey, congrats on Kent! I am in the exact same boat as you ~ same LSAT, originally deferred at Kent, sent back the deferral letter saying I'm interested in full and part time, and just received the same email you did. I'm assuming it's for part time. What school are you leaning towards?

Kent

I'm going to Kent in the fall in the evening division also. I didn't get deferred, but knew from the moment I got my acceptance letter that this was the school I was going to go to. I'm still on Loyola's waitlist, but doubt I'll be getting off of that list anyway. So if you go to Kent, see ya in the fall!

Hey Kam, couldn't find you on the website so I will just reply to you on my profile. I actually got released from the waitlist the first time around on the 10th of May since I checked the box for only Full Time. After I got the letter, I wrote a somewhat letter of appeal which bascially boiled down to me asking to be re-considered for the Part Time program. I sent the e-mail on a Tuesday, the 17th of May. I got a response right back that day saying that my file would be considered for the Part Time program after the 1 June deadline. The very next Monday, the 22nd of May, I got a call from admissions which went to my answering machine (which I never check). I finall got around to checking my answering machine on Wednesday the 24th and I called the admissions office immediately and they told me congratulations and then informed me that my deposit was due that Friday, the 26th of May to the tune of $500. I overnighted the check that day. So basically they gave me from Monday to that Friday. I think the reason was they wanted my answer prior to their 1 June deadline so they could assess the the waiting list fairly. The next $500 deposit is due on 1 July so they will probably do another round of waitlist letters early this month and then you will have a week or so to respond verbally and then of course the check will be due on the 1st of July. I hope this helps out! Good luck and I really hope to see you in the fall.

Thank you. Are you anxious/excited/nervous about leaving California as well? I will be living right across the street from the law school at their new residence hall so it should be very convenient. What about you?
