don't feel bad. your lsat score isn't so bad. at least you broke into the 160s. I think gw, fordham, umn, brooklyn, and cardozo are all schools you can get into with your lsat and gpa. seriously, you rocked undergrad and i'm certain admissions will look upon that favorably. good luck and hold that head high.

Thanks

Thanks guys--it's nice to hear I'm not yet a complete failure! I've been getting application complete notices. I'm actually starting to have second thoughts about Fordham...the night program is a heckuva lot easier to get into, maybe I should switch over my app?

1 WL, 1 Rejection
Tuesday, January 02 2007 at 07:00 PM

Just an update--I got my NYU rejection today. Not really a big surprise. A couple days ago, I was waitlisted to UMN Twin Cities. That was pretty disappointing, actually--I thought I had a good chance of being accepted, and in undergrad 'waitlisted' always meant 'rejected in steps.' Well, that's my update.

I cried when I got my LSAT score, too (the bad one).

Hi, Did you actually get waitlisted at UMN or were you deferred? We have simmilar numbers I think and thats my first choice so Im just wondering. I think you have a good shot at some of your schools, and Im sure you will end up somewhere great!!1

No fat mail yet

Hey everyone, thanks for the support! I just received a waitlist from Cardozo Yeshiva today. I was surprised at the small envelope, I thought I had a good chance there, but at least it isn't another rejection. I'm thinking I may just shoot the moon, but I think I probably don't win anything for that...! Anyways, had two recommendations for Fordham from teachers there, so hopefully I have a good chance. That's my elation/depression school.

Hey birdie0001, Thanks for the vote of confidence! I was waitlisted at UMN--nope, not lucky enough to have a chance at deferral. The letter said they may not inform me till June, I think, so it's a bit of a wait...

GWU rejection today

...not much else to say...

...Fordham rejection today...
Tuesday, January 02 2007 at 07:00 PM

Hey, double my pleasure. GWU and Fordham, my top 'realistic dream' choices both rejected me today. Brooklyn law is all that remains, as well as the Fordham night program (which I'm asking to be considered for)...

A little late, but -- the BL acceptance was for the fulltime program.

GWU Offered me full time!
Tuesday, January 02 2007 at 07:00 PM

Hey, if anyone is reading or cares: I was rejected to GWU's full time program--no waitlist. I asked to be reconsidered for part time. And out of nowhere, they're offering me full time or part time admission! I can't believe it. This is just awesome. Sorry, just wanted to share my excitement, and maybe give a glimmer of hope to those still waiting...

congrats bro, GW is great.... welcome

Wednesday, December 20 2006 at 07:00 PM

before you got into GW did they send you a letter in the mail seeing if you were still interested? We have similar numbers and Im really hoping to get in.

Thanks

Thanks for the kind words, Thorc. Tagore: They gave me a call and an email. (I had called a week earlier and requested to be called or emailed when a decision on my part time program app had been made, since I was running up against the last deadlines to decide where I was going to go... I asked nicely and they were kind enough to oblige.)

UMN 'offered'--a nice twist
Tuesday, January 02 2007 at 07:00 PM

FYI, for all the similarly situated people--a week after GWU surprisingly offered me admission, UMN called and made an overture (probably an offer if I were to agree to accept). I had called them and expressed my desire to attend before I had heard back from GWU. It was a tough choice, but GWU is definitely the right one, so I had to say "so long." Anyway, just a story for people like me who happened to get stuck in limbo after the first round--things have a way of working out, so keep at it!
