Additional info & updates

QUESTION OF THE DAY...How long does it take to tell someone "NO!"? Answer: ASU...4 and 1 week. Ahh...gotta love efficiency.

- 2/11/06 - WOO HOO! I'M GOING TO LAW SCHOOL! (T.C. acceptance today.)

- 2/20/06 - Contacted MSU to find out status of application. They informed me it was before the adcomm.

- 02/23/06 - Recommend for Alternative Admission. This is great news! Changed to Deferred to reflect this.

-- 3/07/06 - Ouch! WNE rejection hurt. 1-2-1 at this point.

-- 3/10/06 - Great visit to TC today. The facilities are amazing and the friendliness of the staff, students, etc. is unmatched.

-- 3/11/06 - Note of receipt of application to CLEO. More waiting!

-- 3/13/06 - Received my ASUrite account info today.

-- 3/13/06 - Received request from U. Dist. Columbia to apply. Great public interest program. Will apply when I return from vacation.

-- 3/14/06 - Received a call from Dean Johnson at WNEC in response to my request for redetermination. He gave me the option to apply for part-time. Very nice of him to call, but WNEC will not be in my future.

-- 3/24/06 - Letter dated 3/10/06. Rejection from L&C. Not a big disappointment. I would have liked the location, but, all things being equal, I would choose Cooley over L&C.

-- 3/24/06 - A nice welcome home (vacataion in Costa Rica the past 8 days) package from Widener! Financial Aid info coming soon. 2-3-1.

-- 3/27/06 - SU - on-line status checker...decision mailed last week. Creeping nausea and diarrhea invade my body. Am I notified early to makes plans or becasue I didn't make the cut. UGGGHH!!! Stay tuned.

-- 3/30/06 -SU - Damn.

-- 3/30/06 - OCU - Waitlist - Withdrawn.

-- 3/31/06 - ALS - emailed for updated status. received a 5 word reply with no signature or name. Where did professionalism go?

Yes, a bit frustrated with law schools admissions office. Maybe they need to be in our shoes.

For all of the naysayers re: Thomas Cooley, they are prompt, courteous, and professional. That goes a very long way with me.

EOR (end of rant)

-- 4/03/06 - Heard back from McGeorge today re: status. "One never knows how long it will be before one hears back from the review committee." WTF?

-- 4/03/06 - Submitted my application to UDC. Lot's of questions for the school, but their focus on public interest and their location is very attractive. More waiting.

-- 4/08/06 - Invited to apply to MSU LEO program. Umm, no problem!

-- 4/08/06 - USF - Ding.

-- 4/08/06 - McGeorge - Ding. But a very nice rejection letter.

-- 4/09/06 - Mailing withdrawal to Widender tomorrow.

-- 4/17/06 - Accepted to MSU LEO Program. See ya there!

Congrats on Cooley, at least you know you're going to law school! I hope all the other apps go well for you. Re: age, I wish I would have done this years ago too but hey, at least we have life experience which will help, I hope... Anyway, I see you don't have Valpo on your list. Are you from Indiana and just ready to leave or is that where you went to Undergrad? Well, either way, like I said earlier, I hope all goes well for you and especially hope you get accepted at your #1 school.

Jwsjd, I remember the feeling I had with my first acceptance. After 10 years of preparation to get to this point, it sure did feel good to know that I was finally going. Best wishes on the rest.

Hey, I just checked the SU status checker right now and it still says "File Complete - Decision Pending" for me, so I guess I'm still in limbo. Good luck!

I applied special admissions too. The waitlist letter I received said I would be notified of a final decisions sometime after their April 15 review of received deposits. I'd love to go there.

You were an alternative admissions candidate and were already rejected? I am a candidate for that program too and I haven't heard anything back. What did your letter say? Was it a standard rejection?

I don't know how happy I'd be in Ohio (Ohio Northern that is) either. It doesn't look like it's near anything. Well, I thought I withdrew since I turned down the conditional offer but she said I'd still be considered for regular admittance. Oh well. Anyway, yes, maybe we will meet half way. I'm trying to work out a time to go visit UDM as a matter of fact. Either way, hope to hear something soon from the rest of the schools. I got a ding today from Alabama, kinda figured but still hoped for the best. So, at least they're coming in so I can make a decision...sometime soon...d*mn... You're right though, they'll start pouring in around the 15th or so when the deposit deadlines are up. Hey, we'll see.

I feel your pain. It seems as if you are in the horrid waiting game. I am stuck waiting but, at least you have some acceptances. Good luck!

Thursday, January 26 2006 at 07:00 PM

Good luck with ASU...I live 3 miles from ASU and it was so frustrating that they took the longest to hear from. Congrats on Cooley!
