Thanks for all the good wishes! 01GSL - Screw BC, they don't know what they're missing, GTgal - no scholarship offers but being a white male I'm doubting I'll get many, and lsp1234 - I just posted how I heard from each school. Good luck to everyone!

Hey I know you!

Hey deskbuddy, This is really odd that I found you on this website, although not surprising. Congrats on your acceptances so far! Any top choices yet? W&M looks like my top choice right now....we could end up at school together...weird... Best of luck with the rest of your schools and keep me informed! (You can figure out who this is from my email, right?)

Im trying to figure out why you picked UMD over Wake Forest when wake is ranked higher. If you get into UNC or WM will you change your mind about UMD?

I decided on Maryland because first off I'm a Maryland resident so it's cheaper and because I'd like to practice in Maryland. From what I hear of the new rankings (not that I really pay much heed to them) Wake and Maryland are really pretty close. So that's why I picked MD.

hey :)

hey, thats cool. I kept UMD and GMU and am awaiting Wake Forest, but I was trying to get some ideas as to the schools. Instate is definitely the way to go though. The new usnews ranking?

Well, from what I know, Wake has only a slight edge in reputation over Maryland (they're both regional so you've gotta figure out where you want to practice). Plus UMD is much cheaper than Wake, even with being in a city. I'm from Chapel Hill so I've been to Winston-Salem a bunch and it's nothing to write home about. It's a great school, I'd just rather be in a place where there's a busier nightlife and just more opportunities in the city (not that Baltimore is the greatest or anything). But if Wake's your choice you can't go wrong with picking there!

hey :)

Usnews ranking came out :) Wake dropped and UMD is mad close now.... definitely a smart move bro, best of luck to you :)

I think you are addicted to this thing as I am. Thanks for the warm wishes on W&M. I was told a decision was mailed monday, so I should get it tomorrow. According to this site, pretty much all of those decisions were waitlists, so ill submit my deposit monday to GMU. #37 yay! I think both are schools are pretty safe, no likelihood of dropping to tier two before we graduate :)

Ahem, you aren't really from Chapel Hill silly

Dear Eric

To all the "Erics" out there, I chose Maryland because I'm a Maryland resident (compare 37000 total cost a year to 56000 a year, plus Maryland gave me a grant). Also, even Emory is a regional law school and I don't want to work in Georgia. There ARE more important things to consider than just the rankings. Not to mention, why don't you focus on your own pursuits, rather than just going around ragging on other people's decisions?

Was thinking Maryland but I just got accepted to Texas Law School after being deferred. Tough Choice ...

Maryland Law Sucks I realized. I got bigger scholarships from higher ranked schools.

Good job on getting ahead of the game! With a 3.8 and a 163 from JHU, you should be in pretty good shape for Maryland. I'd say just keep it up and with a good personal statement, you should be fine. Good luck!

Thanks for the post. I am pretty pumped about UMD. Are you hoping to get off any of the waitlists?

I'm not getting in-state, but I think I will be able to get it starting second year. Good luck with the GW waitlist, but I hope you are at Maryland next year.

thanks

thanks!

Hey there! I was curious if you were just accepted off the waitlist at UNC??? I do want to go there madly, but I am waitlist and I don't have much hope any more? (did Ms Ekpo called or write...) Thanks a lot! Val
