I'm waiting on USD and we sent out apps in around the same time... how were you notified that your application was complete?

Weird

I just realized that after emailing in January about visiting the school, I received an email that had a disclaimer that said "We regret that the high number of applications we receive makes it difficult to provide individual application status checks. The admissions office will notify you by e-mail if your USD Law School application file is incomplete." I don't think I should call yet, but it's weird that you got a complete and I didn't...

I do not have a first choice and I'm really stressing with having to make a decision soon. Most likely it's gonna be between hastings, davis and bc. However I am visiting loyola and usd this week. Have you got a first choice and how are you deciding?

I am from LA as well and I also want to practice in LA when I'm done. I did check out the nalpdirectory as well and that has caused me to strongly consider loyola. I actually go to school in Boston right now and I don't want to live here for 3 more years so I'm not even considering bc. But I really liked davis a lot when I was up there. I'm just concerned about what the job prospects will look like after I graduate.

Hi! Yes, I'm from the LA area. I visited Loyola last Friday and was very impressed. I'm going to stay on UCLA's waitlist, but as of right now, Loyola is it for me. I'm getting ready to send in my deposit. Hopefully I'll see you at Loyola in the fall if USC and UCLA don't come through for us.

Loyola?

Got a scholarship from Loyola. Although I sent my deposit to USD, Loyola is looking good. I have until May 4 to decide.

I think it's...

time to put the "A" next to Loyola! :)

USF v SCU

I love SF and live right next to USF already.. I've never like San Jose, but I'll check out the campus this weekend. Might be a tough decision, still hoping on GM though!

Not Sure

Well, I have three potential possibilities, atm. First: If I get off the waitlist at Hastings, I'm fairly sure that I'll be attending there for the Fall of 2007. Second: I'm retaking the LSAT with the contingency that if I score a 170+ (I didn't study the three months prior to the December LSAT, and I TOTALLY bombed reading comp...something that doesn't happen usually), my parents will support my taking a year off. This isn't a very likely possibility, though...170 is freaking hard, and the highest I've scored in any of my practices is a 168. I'm also only scoring consistently at the 165-167 range...so...yeah. Third: I'll be attending Loyola...though...I'm still not too sure. How about you? You pretty much set on Loyola? I actually have a classmate who just sent me a message via facebook that, although she was accepted off the waitlist at Notre Dame, she's going to be attending Loyola next fall (barring she gets off the waitlist at Hastings, though. Hasn't told me her exact plans). Whatever the case, good luck and cheers! =D

SoCal

We all actually live in SoCal, and both of us attended UCR. I think she chose Loyola over Notre Dame for location and price. I mean, we both got offered scholarships to Loyola, and if she went to Notre Dame, she'd have to pay the full 33k+ and traveling expenses. Here she's at least close to family. For my waitlist at Hastings...I have a feeling it's because I applied at the deadline. I honestly dragged my feet into applying this cycle...I REALLY didn't want to go to law school next year. Also, I'm a bit hesitant and dissapointed that I didn't apply to SD. The more I think aobut it, the more I realize that I want to practice in San Diego. If I get in at Hastings, I seriously wonder what my shots are at getting a firm position in San Diego. So...you're completely set on Loyola, then? For some reason, I just didn't really like the campus, although the people seemed very friendly and the admissions staff is extremely kind.

Hmmm

Lately I've been viewing the USN rankings with a grain of salt. I mean, look at how Hastings was ranked for a while even though the school was really undeserving of the rankings. Whatever the case, I'm just working hard on retaking the LSAT...and concentrating on LS' is somewhat secondary, lol. Of course I'm trying to get off the Waitlists, but I'm really just focused on getting a higher score.

That I am.

Spam is annoying
Thursday, March 15 2007 at 08:00 PM

LSN really needs to give people an option to delete certain posts off their profiles, don't they? This spam is really pissing me off. As for Loyola upping my scholarship...I used Santa Clara's offer to up my scholarship. I sent in an e-mail about that, and a week later, I got a letter in the mail having my offer upped.

USD

Honestly...what it came down to was Loyola's campus, plus my not really wanting to work in LA after LS. That being said, I think San Diego offered me a slightly better out. I like their campus, and most of their grads end up staying in SD. That, and the scholarship offer I received from USD is pretty much non-conditional. All I have to do is not make a tremendous amount of money sometime while I'm in LS, lol.
