Additional info & updates

Unless there's a waitlist miracle, it looks like I'm headed to GWU next year!

Staying on the waitlists at Duke, Georgetown, UVA, and Penn.

Financial Aid info is per year.

*****
12/2: In at William & Mary!! Came in a thick priority mail envelope. Lots of info in it, with mention of a scholarship

12/8: Deferred at Georgetown, and as lame as this sounds, I'm really happy. I was absolutely expecting a rejection.

12/14: IN AT CORNELL!! Got the e-mail as I was taking a break from my 2 1/2 hour long class - definitely freaked out, but I had to calm down since I needed to take a quiz. :) So excited! Cornell is a top choice for me!

12/18: In at Washington & Lee! Small, thin envelope. Also mentioned that I'm eligible for an Honor Scholarship

12/19: In at BC! The package went to my permanent address, so I'm not sure what all was included

12/20: Phone call from Cornell - just asking if I had any questions - made my day :)

12/28: Deferred at UPenn. Letter was dated 12/15, but I haven't been able to check my mail for awhile.

1/3: E-mail from Michigan telling me that they really haven't decided yet. Yes, I know that, thanks :) Others who received this e-mail view it as a Deferral.

1/10: In at Vandy!! :) Came in a thin envelope, not a lot of info

1/11: IN AT GW!!! Got an e-mail saying they will be mailing something early next week.

1/16: Rejected at ND. WTF?

1/16: In at USC!!! Woo! Makes up for the ND knock.

1/25: Received e-mail from Boalt saying that my app has been "selected for further consideration." According to the kids at LSD, this is a nice way to say Deferred (See UM e-mail a few dates up)

2/9: Waitlisted at Duke. *sigh*

2/20: Waitlisted at both UCLA and Georgetown. Bad day.

3/2: Waitlisted at Michigan via e-mail. No surprise here.

3/5: UVA waitlist through snail mail

3/6: Rejected at Berkeley - snail mail to my permanent address. That was an awkward phone call with my mother. "Umm, I have some bad news..."

3/14: Waitlisted via e-mail at Penn after EA deferral.

Best of luck with your cycle. I wish I could tell you what put me over the top at Duke, but kept me from even a waitlist at GULC. I would be very surprised if you didn't get into at least one of your top choices.

thanks for the comment -- AU and GW are definitely places I'm applying, but I'm also retaking the lsat to be more competitve. I'dd definitely watch your cycle as we have similarish numbers (depending on how schools react to multiple scores)

you think you're paranoid?
Saturday, October 28 2006 at 08:00 PM

i didn't list all my schools bc i was short on time. what are your safeties and how did you decide? we're pretty similar in terms of numbers. what extracurrics did you have? hope everything works out for the best.. k

my numbers twin!

Out of curiosity, would you mind giving me an idea of the scholarship offer you got?

W&M Question
Thursday, November 30 2006 at 07:00 PM

First, congrats on your acceptance. Did you apply early action or did you just get your letter really early? I was under the impression that W&M wasn't rolling admissions and so there was no hope of getting a response until March. Could you explain to this anxiously waiting W&M applicant? :) Best of luck on all your apps.

Hi

Just checkin' you out because we have similar numbers and applied to a bunch of the same schools. Sorry about GULC...did you apply to the PT program too or just FT? Anyway, good luck with everything.

The only thing I can think of is I have multiple LSATs and they average so for them I think I might be viewed as a 163 -- in which case I'll be rejected I would assume. I don't think waiting this long can be good

Hey
Sunday, September 17 2006 at 08:00 PM

I noticed that we got into both GW and USC on the same day. I guess it's because our numbers are pretty similar. You've got a lot of great acceptances so far. What's your first choice out of those right now?

ND

That's extremely bizarre about Notre Dame. You and I have similar numbers, so I'm definitely nervous about that one now. Anyway, you seem to have done quite well otherwise; good luck with the rest of 'em!

My choices
Sunday, September 17 2006 at 08:00 PM

I have no idea! I guess right now I'm leaning a bit towards GW. But I'm hoping to get some money from some of my schools to tip the balance. Good luck with the rest of your schools!

great acceptances

Hey, how long did you study for the LSAT and how? Do you have any personal advice before I take it in 17 days? Thanks.

Twins
Saturday, December 02 2006 at 07:00 PM

Looks like we're numbers twins and applied to nearly all of the same schools. Best of luck

GW
Saturday, December 02 2006 at 07:00 PM

Haven't heard anything from GW on any scholarships. I was under the impression that they tell you with admission if you are awarded any scholarships so I hope we're not screwed

Cornell ASW
Saturday, February 17 2007 at 07:00 PM

Hey! Which ASW are you attending? Are you attending any for the other schools? We applied to similar schools and have had similar results! Good luck with your others!

ASW
Saturday, February 17 2007 at 07:00 PM

I'll going to March 9th Cornell's as well! As for other schools - I'm visiting Vandy on March 16th... and then saving the next weekend for any school that gives me money/piques my interest. I have a friend in Boston so I might visit BC/BU during a week (not ASW). I may visit GW - but they have to throw money at me first :) See you at Cornell!

Hey, just wondering when you heard about receiving money from GW. It's one of my top choices and I'm really anxious to hear
