Additional info & updates

Fee Waivers(that I am using): NYU, G-town, Penn, Duke, Northwestern, UChicago,

G-town: Letter in November, follow up call (I'm going to the reception in Jan for admitted students)

Fordham: Email followed by letter - offered 10K a year

Cardozo: Call from Dean, letter
Offered 22,500 a year dean's scholarship
Offered 5,000 a year as a Public Service Scholar

UTexas: Letter

Brooklyn - email followed up by letter

Columbia - letter...sigh

2/17 - Letter from Boston offering me a 20K a year scholarship...

2/23 - Call from the Dean of Admissions of Boalt Hall -- I'm in!

2/24 - Email from Penn - I'm really excited to hear from them because they were the first school I went complete at -- makes me feel better about the schools I'm still waiting on. And, for what it's worth, I didn't write the "Why Penn" essay...

2/28 - Waitlist from Chicago via email -- will most likely withdraw this week.

3/8 - Small envelope from Yale. Expected - still stings.

4/14 - Letter from NYU -- I'll stay on the waitlist until June, but I'm pretty much decided on Penn. They offered me the most money out of any school, including need based grants and loans, so it looks like the best choice for me.

4/28 -- UPenn, class of 2009!

5/12 - Umm, I just got into Harvard?????? Was deferred in Jan, never heard anything - had never gotton the email or "first call" -- today Toby emailed me asking if I was still interested, then called me -- asked a couple of questions, "If I were to make you an offer, would you be likely to accept?" and, "what are you interested in studying?" - then just told me I was in! I said, "Are you serious? I think I'm going to throw up." :)

Congrats on G-Town and BU? What are you leaning towards right now, or are you waiting to hear from the rest?

Hi- I didn't read your comment before the weekend, but I was at the reception. What did you think of G-town?

NYC... love it and hate it
Monday, January 02 2006 at 07:00 PM

I hear you about leaving New York. There's just no place like nyc. But, I might actually be ready for a change, especially since chances are I'll be back again in 3 years anyway. But, I really start freaking out when I consider leaving the East Coast (i.e. Emory or Minnesota), which I think is slanting my view of schools.

GULC impression

I was impressed with G-town too. I think I'd like to go to DC. My dilemma now is whether or not to go for a slightly better reputation in GULC or scholarship money at GW.

on GULC & Boalt -- and you probably have a good shot at NYU, Penn, and Chicago! What's your first choice?

choices

I haven't been accepted to enough schools yet to begin thinking about where I'll end up. I would love to go to NYU -- but I have kids, and living in NYC would be hard ($$) for us. That's why I didn't apply to any NYC schools. Do you know what type of law you're interested in?

Boalt!

Congratulations on your amazing acceptances!! :-D When you e-mailed Boalt about the admissions packet, did you e-mail E. Tom or did you e-mail the general admissions e-mail? Thanks for the heads up on LSD about the travel form!

congratulations on the Harvard thing. I've noticed that nearly everyone who has reported a decision in the last two weeks has gotten a waitlist. Way to go! (I'm still waiting to hear anything from Harvard.)

Congrats Again
