Extra Curricular Information

Can someone give me some information on William Mitchell? How does it rank among the other Minnesota law schools? I only have Ohio Northern or William Mitchell as options so if someone could help me out, I would be very grateful.

Additional info & updates

2/28-3/01: Sending in most of my applications. Hoping for a good cycle! Here we go...

3/10: Got an email inviting me to interview for the summer starter program at Ohio Northern.

3/14: Set up my interview at ONU for next Tuesday. I figure I may as well do everything I can to go to school this year and see what happens. If all else fails, I got accepted to some graduate programs and I could always re-take the LSAT and do law school later. We will see....
-I also got deferred at Akron this morning. They said they will review my application again between May-August. They did tell me to consider changing my application to part time because it would probably be easier for me to gain admission.

3/16: Rejected via email at Southwestern. Not too sad about it at all...Why would I want to live in LA anyway other than the gorgeous weather and beach ha!

3/23: Went to my interview at ONU yesterday and was offered admission to their program. Although the town is far from desirable, the school has the best interests of the students in mind. I feel very grateful to have the opportunity to go to law school!

3/28: Received a rejection letter in the mail from Willamette today.

3/31: Received a rejection letter in the mail from South Dakota today. They did offer me a spot in there law screening program...I doubt I will do it.

4/4: Rejected by Creighton via mail and waitlisted by Wyoming via email.

4/7: Pretty big day on the status checkers...waitlisted at Toledo and Hamline and Decision sent at William Mitchell. Also got a letter in the mail from North Dakota saying they have not made a decision on my application but they will let me know after April 29th. I did get an email inviting me to admitted students day at William Mitchell so I am assuming I got accepted???? :)

4/8: Accepted at William Mitchell via status checker and rejected at DePaul via status checker. I also got rejection email from Case Western.

4/9: Rejected by Drake via mail.

4/16: Rejected by St. Thomas via mail

4/20: Withdrew from Toledo today...I do not want to take away someones chance to attend that school.

4/22: In review at Houston and Oklahoma City. Rejected via status checker by Loyola. That means my cycle is almost over! If by some miracle I get accepted by Houston, I am for sure attending. If not, I think I will be deciding between William Mitchell and ONU.

5/5: Just got back from visiting William Mitchell. It is in a nice neighborhood. The school was pretty nice. A lot bigger than ONU and honestly, I have no idea where I will be. I need to make a decision quick!

5/7: Got rejected by Houston via status checker dang!

5/11: Got an email from Hamline today asking me about whether or not I am still interested in Hamline Law. I withdrew.

5/24: Got a letter from North Dakota yesterday and I was waitlisted. I also checked the status checker at Oklahoma City and I was rejected.

6/3: Got an email from Akron saying I was accepted.

6/28: Withdrew from Akron today. Come on WYOMING!

8/3: Got into Wyoming and attending! Withdrew from everywhere else!

Best of luck to you. You should apply to Cooley. They use an admissions index which is UGPA x 15 plus Lsat score and it has to equal 187. So 3.63 x 15 = 54.45+ 146 = acceptance or 200.45 lol. Oh and screw waiting a year. These anonymous don't know you lol

What am I trying to do hmmmm. I have a well thought out plan that I can't revile lol but a law degree is in the plan. I have already been accepted to Cooley so I know I will be somewhere in the fall if all else fails. A law degree is a law degree regardless of the school you are still an attorney. Anyway good luck and I will be watching to see how your cycle turns out.

Thank you for your comments. I don't know where I'm going yet, too soon to tell. Ride out this cycle, but if you have the time maybe prepare to take the June test? Ultimately, do what's best for you. Obviously, you are a capable Gal,hence your GPAS! Best of Luck!

Southwestern Acceptance

I received an email congratulating me on my acceptance for Southwestern. Later that same day I received a phone call from the dean and an invitation to their accepted students day. When I checked my application status online it read: Congratulations on being admitted. Thanks for the encouragement, I am extremely happy to have options and I'm being proactive about finding the best place for me. Let me know if you have any other questions, hopefully I can help.

^ Joe honestly I would be VERY happy going to Wyoming. I would just like an option or two you know? My South Dakota postmark date was March 29th. Is that your first choice? Best of luck to you!

Just withdrew from Wyoming because I'm going to KU. I hope you get my seat. Good Luck

I just have to respond to the comment "162" made. First, good advice is good advice despite a persons LSAT score. Second, IF I were going to go to Cooley I would not be willing to pay full tuition. I have other means to pay for school a law degree is almost free for me depending on the school I attend. Anyway, Have you decided on what you will do for the fall?

Coming from ohio originally, you notice the crazy amount of law schools in the state. It may be tough post-graduation. I say hit up William Mitchell. But honestly you probably want to take a campus tour, or call the office of admissions and just ask them tons of questions. It'll help.
