Additional info & updates

(Jan 5, 2009) - So I received my LSAT score on Dec 28th and was very disappointed, as I had been scoring in the high 150s to low 160s. I am very concerned about getting accepted anywhere at this point. I will be updating this regularly and will be re-taking the LSAT on Feb 6th. This time instead of teaching myself I am taking a class. Any feedback would be helpful, please be honest. What do you think of my chances for the schools I am applying to?

Retake

Hey man, to be honest with you, you have virtually no chance at any law school (maybe John Marshall & Florida A&M, but I wouldn't go to either). How about a retake in June and apply for next cycle? Best of luck.

I hope it goes well

Good luck on your LSAT this next time around. I completed undergrad at the University of Alabama @ Birmingham. I'm still unsure of which school I will attend, I hope to have that decision by mid March after I visit the schools.

The ABA requires law schools to only accept students with a score of 146+. Make sure to inform the law schools that you are retaking so they don't send your file to committee. Good luck this cycle and in Feb!

Hi, I was wondering if you have heard anything from Charleston as far as an update on your application? Thanks.

The LSAT is everything unless you are independently wealthy. Until you can get between 155 and 160, don't apply anywhere. The school cannot "take a chance" on you with numbers below that because they want to stay in or get up into a certain tier. That means not even taking low LSAT scores if seats are going to be empty. I am at Uark at Fayetteville- you have my email if you want to discuss.

I think you should take everyones comments with a grain of salt. You can get into law school, perhaps even a Tier 1 school. While numbers and your LSAT score are a great factor in Admissions decisions, NEVER doubt the power of God in your life! If you choose to retake the LSAT then great, but if not I am sure you will be as successful. I wish you the very best!
