Additional info & updates

I'm kinda new to this site, but these are schools I was thinking about before I got my LSAT score. Now that I know where I stand I'm wondering if its still realistic...I know a few are a strech, but if anyone has any advice I'm all ears!

*************************************************

(note: scholorship amounts are per year)

10/24: alright..i have all my apps in minus pepperdine since they want another essay....great. i'll try and keep this posted and hope others do the same. good luck to everyone in this cycle! :)

01/07: in at UOP and Chapman. still no word from the rest but so far so good. (still keeping my fingers crossed)

01/09: $$ from Chapman and UOP, not too shabby.

02/09: after not hearing anything from anywhere for a month i came home to find a small envelope from Hastings with a rejection (surprise surprise)
... but also a big one from Loyola, i'm in! :)

02/12: in at USF via email. says admission packet will follow in the mail. pretty happy! :)

03/07: waitlisted at american.

03/20 - took em over 4 months...but finally in at USD :)

03/29: waitlisted at pepperdine...boo.

04/06: withdrew most of my applications..i hope that gives someone else a chance who wants to get into those schools. staying on the waitlists...but it looks like it'll be loyola for me!! :)

good luck to everyone still waiting on this cycle!

I think you look pretty good for Chapman, or UOP at least.

don't worry

You definitely have a good shot at many of those schools. I applied to Loyola, UOP, and Chapman in April of last year and everything worked out fine. You have a better LSAT than me and will probably apply earlier, so your chances are looking really good. Good luck =)

HMMM

You have a good LSAT that makes you a shoe in at Chapman and UOP. However, a 3.00 in Poli Sci may knock you out on all the others. It isn't your LSAT, it's your UGPA. I wouldn't put down the possibility of getting into Pepperdine, Hastings or Loyola, though! GL.

Pepperdine

When I visited Pepperdine, they said they look a lot at the whole package, and that you can make up a lot with the second essay. I wouldn't stress about Pepperdine too much.

Some of the same...

I don't think it is a stretch on many of those schools.... I submitted my apps. around the same time so I'll be watching your up dates... Good luck...

similar

we have similar stats and are applying to a lot of the same schools. So far I have gotten Chapman and Loyola. Pepperdine was my first choice when I started out, however, I am sort of backing of of them b/c I am not sure it is worth the $$$.

Predictions?

Yes, you should be a shoe in at Loyola, Pepperdine and San Diego, even hastings with your lsat of 162. I didn't bother with UOP, i'd rather go to Chapman.

UOP

Woo. Numbers buddies! Good luck! Out of curiosity, how long after your acceptance from McGeorge did you hear about the scholarship?

Waiting
Friday, October 19 2007 at 08:00 PM

The wait from Santa Clara is starting to piss me off. I turned that app in 4 months ago! USD accepted me and asked for a deposit a week later! ugh! Anyway, congrats on Loyola, they waitlisted me.

Loyola vs. Pepperdine

Pepperdine's rankings jump didn't affect my decision at all. Loyola is still much more respected than Pepperdine in the SoCal market, and will be for some time. Not to mention Loyola's tuition is a lot cheaper!
