12.11.07
Accepted at Santa Clara under early action, came in a white envelope with SCU logo, etc. Nothing about financial aid or scholarships. I can official go to law school next year!!

12.12.07
In at UoP. Large white envelope with a priority mail sticker on it. nice...

12.15.07
UoP scholarship notice came separate few days later....pretty psyched about getting free money....However, the school is still pretty pricey...

01.15.07
After a month of no news DePaul has broken the drought with an acceptance email stating that I may or may not have recieved an acceptance package. Also, I have two letters waiting at home, but since I am out of the country I will have to wait until the 23rd to see them....they are single letter envelopes from UCB and American...I am thinking its bad news...but ya never know and I'm not gunna hold my breath.

01.24.08
Ahhh.....Four rejections in a row...all came in a single page white envelope. I am now 4 for 8. I'm really hoping to pull a first tier school out of the hat. I have pretty much decided to go to the highest ranked school I get into...

02.01.08
Acceptance email from USF, packet to follow.

02.07.08
Rejection letter from Wisconsin came in a small envelope.

02.10.08
Rejected from my top choice today, University of Washington. Sad.
Just waiting on Brooklyn and Hawaii now.

02.15.08
Denied at Fordham via status checker, letter to follow later.

03.10.08
Accepted at Hawaii.
Also today, wrote an email to brooklyn to see what the deal is.

04.06.08
In light of being waitlisted at Brooklyn and their tuition of forty grand a year, I have decided to attend UoP McGeorge. Still waiting for an updated letter for scholarship award from McGeorge. Cycle is over for me good luck to everyone...

04.07.08
Email from Brooklyn stating that I can have a space in the part time division immediately if I do not want to wait for full time only. Withdrawing....did I mention tuition is 40 grand!
Also rejected from Washington and Lee.

04.08.08
On second thought, I am going to seriously consider Brooklyn. Now I have to make a decision, so it's up to UoP and Brooklyn.

04.10.08
Updated Scholarship from McGeorge...Makes the decision that much harder.

04.18.08
Brooklyn part-time it is. Cycle is over...nice.

04.27.08
Deferred at Chicago-Kent, finally all schools have given me responses. I didn't think the cycle would play out this way. Never expected to go to Brooklyn Law, but here I come!

congrats on santa clara! Are you going to go there? theLawDad's post should be deleted...he's wrong about Hastings ED and SCU's EA...good thing the LawDad's Dad put him in his place. Which school is your first choice? Are you interested in IP law?

congrats!!!

Congrats on Santa Clara, I'm applying there b/c of their stellar IP program. Good to see you're considering law overseas. There are some great opportunities in study abroad programs. I saw Temple has a program any law student can do - it's in Zanzibar and deals with human trafficking!

Actually, I didn't finish my application with other schools (chapman, UW) besides Cardozo and USF for that reason. Yes, I understand that I "may" be taking somebody's spot that they are dying for, but that is why law school is the way it is and competitive. But, I applied so early in the cycle and withdrawing really doesn't affect their applicant pool since I was most likely considered anyway or messed up the numbers for someone below me. But you can also argue that it is unethical for all the obvious 4.0gpa/180lsat people who are getting into HLS and Yale to even apply to Hastings for a backup. So where is the line where we start helping others without hurting ourselves? If you withdraw from all your schools right now, that would be a good example of putting your money where your mouth is. Thanks for noticing my potential as an exceptional lawyer though. Maybe you should correct your pessimism towards lawyers if you plan on being around so many. I dont think law school will be very fun if you think that way about people or maybe just think you are better than everyone else. Good luck on the cycle!

I don't hate the 4/180 people. I respect them and they deserve what they earn. It's just that maybe they should be out saving the world if they're that damn smart. What school are you waiting on?

Hey man, it was good working with you. I got my fingers crossed for you for the rest of the cycle. Onward!

Brooklyn?
Thursday, January 31 2008 at 07:00 PM

Did you get a response back from Brooklyn? What did they say? I'm still waiting to hear from both Brooklyn and Chicago-Kent.

Brooklyn and DePaul
Thursday, January 31 2008 at 07:00 PM

I meant, did you get a response from the email you wrote to Brooklyn on the 10th? Congrats on your acceptances. I'm still considering DePaul. Are you?

Any updates? Do you feel like its been a long time or am I the only impatient one?

Monday, February 25 2008 at 07:00 PM

You know, I was just wondering if anyone else got that email. Glad to hear I'm not alone. I was going to withdraw too and now I'm seriously considering it. Right now its either Brooklyn or American.

Hey did you send any additional material to Brooklyn after you received notification that you've been waitlisted? I'm anxious to get off their waitlist, either accept or reject so that I know where I'm going. Btw, congrats on your acceptances!

American it is
Monday, February 25 2008 at 07:00 PM

I've decided to go with American. Did Brooklyn call you yet and ask you to commit to coming there? Have you decided where you're going to go?

Thanks
Saturday, December 15 2007 at 07:00 PM

for the reply. What are you going to send? Optional essays? Additional LOR? I already submitted an LOCI...they haven't offered me a PT position yet. I'm wondering if my embarrassing GPA had anything to do with it. haha. Anyway, let me know how everything goes with you. Good luck!

Well...
Saturday, December 15 2007 at 07:00 PM

I don't want them to be like "hey, since you requested it, take the PT seat or get nothing," you know? I'd much rather be in the FT program. I mean, I've been accepted to St. John's with a considerable amount of scholarship money, and although their rankings may be a bit far apart this year, BLS and SJU job placement opportunities are similar. Thus, I would not take a PT seat at BLS even if I was offered one, especially if it were without $$. A LOCI should set you apart from the rest of the waitlisted pack. I hope we both make it in, good luck man!

Haha
Saturday, December 15 2007 at 07:00 PM

You're absolutely right, now that I've been accepted, I think I'm going with Brooklyn. And yeah, I am phil from TLS. How do you know?? lol, anyway, classmate, I left my AIM down there, contact me sometime.

There it is on the bottom

Have to now make the same decision. I'm concerned that I'll be stuck in part-time day forever and have to take courses in the summer to finish in 3 years. Hear that it's more expensive that way, too. What are your thoughts?

Hi, I was just wondering if you could tell me when the brooklyn seat deposit is due? Thanks and congrats!

Hey, thanks for the info. I'm just so sick of riding these waitlists that I'm hopelessly trying to figure out when I will hear from these schools. Congrats again on your schools

Lol...yeah I changed my mind. I\'m going to be in the evening division. I\'m hardly on aim but when I do sign on I\'ll send you a message. Are you in the evening division as well? Are you staying in the student housing?
