hey congratulations on getting in to UIUC with a scholarship! I was looking at their stats and i saw that people with the same index as you got were rejected and I was wondering if that was pure chance or if you had any extenuating circumstances or a lot of extra curriculars. Then agaiin your lsat score may have jsut been given a lot of weight since it was so good. Sorry if this is coming off as nosy, I just wanted to assess my chances of getting in. Thanks.

Be sure to post Tulane's response. ;) Anyway, good luck on your remaining apps! And perhaps I'll see you at UIUC. Best, Matt

Regarding UIUC
Wednesday, July 06 2005 at 08:00 PM

Yes, we're going to the March open house. At this point, I think it's quite likely that I'll attend UIUC as well. I'm still holding out some hope for my top remaining choice, Boston University. But the others are either certain rejections--BC and Cornell--or just "safety schools" that probably won't offer me enough money to affect my decision. I'm considering IU-B, which offered 8k/yr; but, all things considered, I think I'll continue to favor UIUC with 5k/yr. Anyway, Im interested to see what kind of scholarship money you may get from Iowa. (Judging from this website, they can be quite generous.) Feel free to e-mail me if you want to chat further about UIUC or any other LS-related topic. Matt

UIUC v Minn

To freeze or to freeze more... Congrats on your acceptance! I'll most likely end up at Minn unless someone else offers me more money.

Did you ever hear back from Tulane?

I'm very interested to see if your strategy worked!

tulane

if tulane matched uiuc's offer, or gave you any kind of a scholarship, would you actually go there? I'm just wondering because uiuc is your top choice, and if i had been accepted at my top choice, i probably wouldn't go through the trouble to get tulane to give me money. Just curious.

top choice

that makes sense. What would be your top choice if all things were equal and you were accepted at every school?

is great. That will definately shave a few zeros off the debt. Since i don't see myself getting into my top two choices, i'll probably take the money and go to tulane. But that could change, you never know whats going to be in the mailbox.

I was wondering what you thought of UIUC?

I had an error in updating my profile a few days back. I had to put my scholarship info back up; I didn't realize my numbers went down too. You know, you really could have pointed it out in a nicer way. Don't bring that tone on my page again you f-u-c-k-i-n prick.

It appears my restriction to only allow registered users to comment on my page was reset too. Of course, I fixed it. You've got to register if you want to get b-i-t-c-h slapped some more.
