Additional info & updates

I applied to a lot of schools, in part because I wasn't sure where my numbers would get me and also because I genuinely couldn't narrow down my list. Strong ties to CA, much weaker ties to the south (FL/TX).

12/8: Accepted to Georgetown!

12/22: Accepted to Alabama with $$$ (scholarship is over 3 years)!

(Great Christmas gift from both schools and an amazing start to the New Year!)

1/8: Received the "Why Texas" prompt. Hoping to have it submitted by the end of 1/9.

1/9: WL'd at GW. I'm a little surprised as nearly all the predictors said I had a strong chance - now I'm worried about the rest of my cycle.

1/10: Not worried anymore! Accepted to Michigan!!!! :D One of my top choices - SO excited!

1/13: Withdrew from GWU.

1/15: In at Texas! Really excited - I've visited the campus twice since 2011 and love it. :)

1/28: Asked to interview at WUSTL.

2/10: First signs of movement on my apps and it was a WL. Ngl, I'm bummed. Wrote a Why Penn and had a specifically targeted LOR. Ah, well. Also held at Northwestern.

2/17: Had my UVA interview and want everyone to know that Ms. Cleveland is the sweetest interviewer ever. Whether or not I get in, I'm glad I got to talk to her as she's lovely.

2/23: In at UVA with $$. Stunned + amazing option.

3/2: Held at Columbia. :/ Hoping Dean Iwerebon likes my LOCI as much as I like CLS.

3/13: Finally heard back from WashU! Acceptance. :D

3/17: Reserve at Cornell. Not that bothered, tbh. Will respond to the WL but am unlikely to go without $$.

3/18: Chancellor's Scholarship at UT!! So shocked I knocked over my Diet Coke bottle at work. (Also, the scholarship number is oddly specific. I like it.)

3/20: Fight On for ol' SC/Our men Fight On to victory/Our Alma Mater dear, looks up to you. Fight On and win for ol' SC/Fight On to victory.

UVA interview

It was very relaxed, but the interviewer had a script that flowed really well. Started off with what are you doing now/tell me about your current job. Where do you see yourself after law school/how do you want to use your degree? How do you think UVA will help you get there/why UVA? (this is the question we spent the most time discussing). Do you have any questions for me? Finally, when I go back to the committee and I'm telling my colleagues about your application/ what do you want me to communicate to them about why they should accept you. This is basically your elevator pitch. /interview

Thanks, tr3! I'm very excited - still waiting to hear back from schools but absent big scholarships coming in from elsewhere, I'm going to find it hard to turn down half-price tuition.
