Additional info & updates

I have maintained a relatively steady GPA throughout my years at U of MO. Although my LSAT score was lower than I would have liked, I believe my strong academic history more than compensates for it.

I am unsure exactly what kind of law I wish to practice, but I am excited at the prospects of attending law school and finding a niche.

If anyone cares to talk about law school stuff, has advice, etc., feel free to get in touch.

Update 3/5/08: Accepted to University of Toledo. Not exactly on the top of my list, but I will probably see what kind of scholarship I am offered.

Update 3/7/08: Accepted at University of Cincinnati. Kind of a surprise here. I applied relatively late in the process and with my mediocre LSAT score, I didn't expect to get in. Needless to say, I'm very pleased. I suppose I play the waiting game on scholarships now.

Update 3/8/08: Rejected at Colorado. This was pretty much expected. I can't say I'm too disappointed.

Update 3/19/08: I attended the Admitted Students Reception at Mizzou today. It was great getting to talk to other prospective students, but especially the professors and current students. I'm really not any closer to making a decision about schools, but I feel much more confident that I can handle the law school workload.

Update 3/31/08: I attended SLU's ASW on Saturday. It was exceptionally well-organized and extremely helpful. They had a "mock" law class where admitted students reviewed a case. They also had financial aid, career services, professors and current students speak to us. It did wonders for helping me make progress in narrowing my choices.

I sent in my withdrawal letter to Mizzou today. They have a good law school, but as a current undergrad at Mizzou, I have come to believe it is time for me to move elsewhere. Anyone who chooses Mizzou for law school. I believe, will be happy with their choice, don't get me wrong, this was a purely personal decision. Attending SLU and Mizzou's ASWs, SLU just made it feel like they wanted me at their school more, and I feel I will be more at home in St. Louis (as well as happier).

Update 4/11/08: Waitlisted at Wash U today. Surprised I made it that far. I'm not sure I have any business even being on the waitlist, to be honest.

Update 4/14/08: Attended the Cincinnati ASW on friday. I was very impressed with the school, the faculty and the students. It is a school I can see myself attending and an area I can see myself practicing in. I probably can't say I am 100% certain on my decision, but I am leaning strongly toward Cincy and I am excited about it.

Update 4/17/08: Assuming I do not get into the waitlisted schools and offered any significant scholarship (both very likely), I have made a final decision. I was very impressed with Cincy and I am looking forward to starting school in the fall. If anyone else has decided on Cincy as well and would like to chat sometime, shoot me a message.

Update 4/30/08: Since making my decision to attend U of Cincy, I have received acceptance letters from Indiana-Indianapolis and Chicago-Kent. I haven't received word on financial aid from either school and I highly doubt I will receive a scholarship. I am still fully committed to U of Cincy at this point.

Congrats on SLU's acceptance. Any idea where you might end up?

Since you are in Columbia have you visited the law building at Mizzou? If so, what were your impressions? Mizzou is definitely high on my list, but I won't be able to visit until mid-March and there isn't much info out there on Mizzou. So any info would be appreciated. What are your top choices?

Actually I have yet to see anything official from UMKC. The scholarship info was passed onto me via a phone call. I did get a follow up email a few days later but thus far, nothing official. Are you making the SLU ASW?

Thanks for the review. I have found that info pertaining to Mizzou's law school is somewhat hard to come by. I'm excited about visiting in March.
