Additional info & updates

I've received a lot of fee waivers the best from Michigan, Columbia and Notre Dame.

Received acceptance email (subject of "Congratulations") and a few days later a packet from Duke.

Georgetown sent a letter in a standard cream envelope with acceptance to PT division. There was a hand-written note that they hoped I would stay in this area and go to school there.

George Mason gave me a call to offer admission and they are sending a packet.

Michigan sent a large, thick packet with the acceptance letter and a plastic document folder thing.

The more acceptances the harder the choices! Right now I'm leaning toward Duke but Georgetown & Michigan are awesome too and I work 1 mile from George Mason.

Withdrawn from George Mason, BYU, Notre Dame, George Washington, Georgetown, Cornell, Virginia

Congratulations on your acceptance to Duke. Right now it's my top choice so I hope to hear back from them soon. Do you recall what the actual "subject header" of the Duke acceptance e-mail was? I see that you're CS...a science major just like I am. Does IP law interest you?

congrats back!

I didn't apply to duke because I'm lazy and my essay didn't fit the topic, but it's a great school. Good luck!

wclegal - Yes, Duke is awesome. They've always been very high on my list. The actual subject header is "Congratulations." I didn't even read the subject but saw it was from Duke. I expected it was a "complete" email since I never received one but it wasn't. I was very excited! IP interests me a lot. In the acceptance packet they sent an IP Boom at Duke packet that is very impressive. I think they're really trying to beef up their IP program and they are putting resources into it. Duke is looking better and better.

Thanks

Thanks Pyros - I hope to move up in the rank too but Duke is awesome either way - low cost of living and great IP...

jurisdebt - optional essays

I did the academic essay. The topic was a recent article I saw in the Journal of Patent and Trademark Office Society. I debated what to do for a long time but finally I just did that because I was interested and wanted to write on it. It was tough to compress things into the 2 pages. Unfortunately, I never had a chance to use the essay for any other schools.
